The study method series: 2. Studying by telling stories

First off, i want to welcome you all to the second part of the study series. The first part of the series talks about studying whilst listening to music. You can check it out @ https://paidforarticles.com/the-study-method-series-1-studying-whilst-listening-to-music-31917

In today's part of the series, you will learn about the method of studying by telling cool stories. The method is simply referred to as the story method.

HOW YOU YOU APLY THIS? READ ON TO FIND OUT.

While studying, take definitions of concepts, examples, figures and tables with a story (it may be a story you just created or an already existing story you are so passionate about). Just consciously attach the story to whatever thing you are reading and you will never forget it.

Let's get a little bit practical.

For example: using the definition of wave; "a wave is any disturbance from an equilibrium position that travels or propagates with time from one point to another".

Now, to remember the above definition, I will just create a story of myself walking to a pool of water that is undisturbed (here, the water is in its equilibrium position). The next thing i will do is to throw a stone into the water and i wil see ripples, now the water is disturbed (any disturbance), the ripples that is created (this is the travel or propagation with time), the ripples I am presently seeing will stop at a certain time after extending beyond the disturbance point (from one point to another).

If i am asked to give the definition of a wave, i will just think of the storyand retrieve the definition with ease. The story method is one of the many methods I employ whenever I am studying and it has sure worked wonders for me.

The story method of studying is so effective that even if you are in anoisy room, you can still get the best out of your study time.

This method also helps you to digest whatever material you are studying quickly and thus you can study many materials in less time and this gives  you a great advantage especially during preparations for examinations/tests.

Though students have other study methods that is suitable for them, they can add the story method to their great advantage.

The third part of the series is on the way. watch out!

Thanks!
