EARTH is the only known planet till now on which life exists. We live on earth, but there are a lot of facts about the earth which are not known to most of us, Let's explore the top 5 facts about the world:

#1:AGE OF THE EARTH

DO YOU KNOW... THE AGE OF EARTH IS 4.55 BILLION YEARS, that is 455 crore years!!!. Now the question that comes to our mind is, "how did scientists calculate the age of the earth?". So just to let you know, this was done by a technique called RADIOMETRIC DATING technique. RADIOMETRIC DATING technique is a way by which scientists take the help of soil and stones and calculate their approx age. So you might have understood that the oldest stone/soil found by our scientists was 4.5 billion years old, i.e., the stone of time of earth formation.

#2:TEMPRATURE OF THE EARTH

Although the average temperature of the earth is 16-17 degrees Celcius, there are a lot of places on earth where the average temperature varies too much. On July 10, 1913, the highest temperature ever recorded was 56.7-degrees Celcius in DEATH VALLEY, UNITED STATES, and the lowest temperature recorded till now was -89.2 Degree Celcius on JULY 21 1983 in VOSTOK STATION in RUSSIA.

#3:THE EART WAS ONCE BELIEVED TO BE CENTRE OF UNIVERSE

There was a time in the past when scientists believed that EARTH is the center of the universe, and all planets and SUN are revolving around it, they also made a model of this and named it GEOCENTRIC MODEL. Then later, a person named NICOLAUS COPERNICUS, and he presented a new model called HELIOCENTRIC MODEL. According to the HELIOCENTRIC MODEL, SUN was not found to be revolving around EARTH. Still, the EARTH and other planets were found to be turning around the SUN, and we all do know that GEOCENTRIC MODEL is wrong, and the HELIOCENTRIC model is correct. 

#4:THE ROTATION SPEED OF EARTH IS GRADUALLY SLOWING DOWN 

Yes, you have heard precisely right; the rotational speed of the earth is gradually slowing down. Talking about the acceleration rate of the rotational speed of the world, it is found to be @17 milliseconds per HUNDRED YEARS. Still, now the question comes, "WHY IS THE ROTATIONAL SPEED OF EARTH IS REDUCING?", actually the fact is the moon is moving 3.78cm away from earth per year, and this makes the reduction in the rotational speed of the world, so we come to know the fact that distance between earth and moon is inversely proportional to the rotational rate of land that is:

MORE DISTANCE BETWEEN EARTH AND MOON= LESS ROTATIONAL SPEED 

3.78 cm/year doesn't sound too much. Still, now the fantastic fact is 4.5 billion years ago when the planet earth was formed, the moon was very close to the planet and a day was near to 5-6 hours a day, but today nearly 450 crore years ago the moon went far off, and the rotation speed of world decreased that's why now a day is of 24 hours. Talking about our future, the rotation speed will decrease day by day, minute by minute, about nearly 14 crore years later, the rotation time of earth will increase from 24 hours a day to 25 hours a day.

#5: REVOLUTION SPEED OF EARTH

We know that EARTH revolves around the SUN, but do you know the revolution speed of earth, it is 30Km/second. Approximately by the time y have read the full article, the land has already traveled 6000-7000km, the amazing thing is not only EARTH, but we are also traveling with it. That is, we are also revolving with the speed of 30 km/ second, but we can't feel it; ist that amazing?
