Today I am going to tell about such a great person who has recently received the Padmashri. Awards and is the king of his age, his age is about 125 years.

Yoga is arguably one of the biggest contributions to the world by India.

Over the years, millions around the world have embraced the ancient practices of yoga for inner peace and happiness. While it is a known fact that yoga replenishes the mind and to adding to one's longevity, 125- year old Swami savanna is a living testament to the boundless possibilities of yoga.

The Government of India recently conferred padmashri to savanna.

The 125 year-old yoga guru garnered applause from across the hall. Before accepting the award, walked up to time prime minister and the President and prostrated  before them. The guests present at the ceremony were awestruck by savanna health and swift movements.

His simplest ways of disciplined and well-regular, life with early morning Yoga, oil-free, boiled diet and selfless service to mankind in his own way have given him disease free and tension -free longest life. He demonstrates his life as an exemplary lesson rather than preaching.

About his Life 

Born on 8 August 1896 in district now in Bangladesh of undivided India, Swami is now 125 years old, presumably the oldest man of earth.

He lost his mother and father at the age of six. Due to abject poverty, his beggar parents could feed him mainly boiled rice water during his childhood days.

After the funeral rites, he was brought to his  ashram in West Bengal. Guru, Omkarananda Goswami brought him up, imparted all practical and spiritual education including Yoga without school education.

He has been a positive thinker throughout his life. The world is my home, its people are my fathers and mothers. To love and serve them is my religion - this has been belief. He is chasing that mission till today to serve the underprivileged in different parts of the country - in northeast India at Varanasi puri haridwar and so on, according to the president house documents on Padma awards.

Dedicated Life of the welfare of leprosy-affected, beggars

For the last 50 years, swami has been serving 400-600 leprosy-affected, beggars with dignity at puri by personally meeting them at their fitments.

He perceives them as living God and serves them with the best available items. He arranges different materials like food items, fruits, clothes, winter garments, blankets, mosquito nets, cooking utensils based on their expressed need, it said. 

He encourages others to hand over different items to the affected people to make them feel the joy of giving so that later on they are motivated to do such types of humanity work in their respective areas.

Swami healthy and long life has drawn attention from across the globe, including his commitments to motivating country men for Covid vaccination after immunizing himself at the age of 125 years.

Corporates hospitals across the nation have performed complimentary master health check-ups to assess the structural and functional status of his vital organs and systems to observe his lifestyle.

In presence of the doctors and management teams in a conference hall, to the query on the secret of his longest life, along with sharing his desireless, simple life, he demonstrates different yoga and exercise as means of his healthy and long life.

Swami has been honored with various awards, including the yoga RTN, award, in 2019 at Bengaluru.

He was the senior -most participant from the country at a yoga demonstration on June 21, the world yoga day in 2019.

His diet and daily routine 

Besides his disciplined yoga routine, his food habits are something that we all should take note of. Most of them are not easy to follow, but it's something that has given the yoga guru a disease free and tension free life.

Swami has always said he eats very simple food that is oil free and without spices. He prefers eating rice and boiled pulse.

He also abstains from taking milk or fruits because he thinks they are fancy foods. I head a simple and disciplined life. I eat very simply only boiled food without oil or spices, rice. He had told AFP back in 2016.

Even at age 125, he is still fit and without any medical complications. 

He still wakes up at 3 "am" in the morning to start his day.

His healthy and long life has often drawn the attention of international media outlets.

Secret to live Long and Fit

On being asked about how do you spend your day, he reveals that I do one hour of morning walk, then one hour of yoga, then one hour of prayers and this is how I spend my entire day.

Swami never wastes a single minute in the entire day, according to one of his follower. He says Swami thinks that wasting own's time is itself an offense.

Awarded the Padma Sri,

05 Important Spiritual lessons by Swami Sivananda

These Five instructions contain the very essence of all yoga Adana, karma, shakti, and yoga will all come to one who follows them wholeheartedly.

1.) Brahmamuhurta- Get up at 4 am daily. This is Brahmamuhurta which is extremely favorable for sadhana. Do all your morning spiritual sadhana during this period from 4 am to 6:30 or 7 am, such gives quick and maximum progress.

2.) Asana-Sit, on padmasana siddhasana or sukhasana for your jap, and meditation for half an hour facing east or north.

3) Jap- You can repeat any mantra such as Om or Om, Sri ram, si ta, ram, Om Na mo, Hri Om.

4)Dietetic Discipline -Take static food. Give up chilies tamarind, garlic, onion, sour, oil, mustard, etc

5.) Meditation-Have, a separate meditation room under lock and key. If this is not possible, then a corner of the room should be set apart with a small cloth screen or curtain drawn across.
