Story of a Homeless man

It was yesterday night, I had to go out for some refreshment. I went to a shop and purchased a cold drink with some cigarettes from Dildar Paan Shop(shop name) which is located just in middle of the city at intersection of Zafarwal and Muridky roads. I was talking with shopkeeper when I heard some laughs behind me.

When I turned around I saw a bonefire which was encircled by some men and an old man dancing around the fire. I took my drink and joined this company. All men sitting around the fire were making fun of old man just to amuse themselves. Perhaps they were trying to prove if the old man was mental. After some minutes old man stopped his dance and sit on the ground and took a deep breath. He requested someone to bring a cigarette for him.

Old man ignited the cigarette and asked to listen his story. He first told how he killed his parents. He said he never obeyed his parents since his childhood and was their only son. His parents had some expectations from him and were so worried about his future. But he always disappointed them by keeping himself away from home for months to years with no reason at all. So his parents died worrying about him.

When he knew that his parents are no more, he returned home and burried them. After couple of weeks he sold all of assets and left the village since people of village started teasing him if he was a madman in the area. After leaving the village he came to city and went to a restaurant for lunch. After finishing the lunch he was about to pay the bill when he found his pockets were empty and couldn't remember where he dropped the money which he had by selling his property. But luckily manager let him go calling him madman. After which he began to wander on roads day and night. He slept on the roads for over thirty years and this night his plan was to sleep near this bonefire. After listening the story of man people again started laughing at him.

After a couple of laughs a boy with sorrows in his eyes took a ten rupee note from his pocket and gave it to old man. Old man took this note and put it on fire. Men started abusing him and started calling him madman. He stood up, walked through some distance, cleaned up the ground by his shawl layed down for sleep.
