How Do Split Ends Appear?
Split ends are the same in general—they occur when hair splits at the tips or ends—but there are a few varieties with minor variations. Split ends come in a variety of forms, and it's critical to comprehend the underlying causes of each kind. 


Double Split: The most prevalent and simplest to identify split end type is the double split. These splits, which result in a Y-shaped split at the tips of your hair, are caused by the cuticle of your hair becoming worn down or damaged—typically as a result of friction.

Partial Split: On a smaller scale, a partial split is comparable to a double split. Partial splits, which typically occur when your hair is dry and damaged, are fortunately not too dangerous. You may repair your hair before the partial split makes the damage to your hair worse by taking some precautions and limiting your exposure to heat. 
Tree Split: A tree split is when you see that the strands in your hair are divided into multiple sections, giving the appearance of a tree with protruding branches. These split ends indicate that your hair needs to be properly trimmed because it is damaged.
Fork Split: The fork split is shaped like a fork with three protruding splits that resemble prongs. This kind of split happens when your hair isn't properly hydrated.
