What is Social Media? 

This question may arise between First-timers. Well, Social Media are websites and applications that allow people to share their ideas, photos, contents, videos, events, and many more. These properties and usage of Social Media are what completes its meaning. Andrew Weinreich first found social Media in 1997. Each individual has different opinions and uses of Social Media. Some people just use it to make friends online who has the same personality as theirs, and some people use it only for fun, to play videos or games, or just to pass the time. Different People have different uses of Social Media.

The Use of Social Media is Infinite. Unlike other websites, Social Media has no boundaries, people can do whatever they want and anything they like on social media. These uses, such as watching videos, playing games, etc. etc. make Social Media more efficient and fun to use. There are many websites and applications for Social media, such as- Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Reddit Youtube, and many more. This is the well-known websites that people use daily and has the most users. But there are thousands more, which holds many different types of features and properties. Mainly what depends is how people want to use it and what they want to use it for. 
There are different types of Social Media Websites. Websites for Videos like Youtube, Websites for Pictures like Instagram, Websites for random Posts like Reddit or Twitter, and Websites that have everything in General. Like Every Other thing, Social Media is a very Well known website. But it has its Advantages and Disadvantages. 

Advantages of Social Media:

It is a great way to pass someone's spare time. You can stay well entertained on Social Media by the vast audience. People also have a direct connection to their families and friends. You can contact anyone from anywhere in the world, which is a huge advantage. People can get to know about the situation at different places via news through Social Media. People can also share their ideas and opinions with others and extend their knowledge and specific skills. Social Media can also be used for Studying purposes and many more. 

Disadvantages of Social Media:

It may allow people to spend time, but it is also making Humans lazier and less active in specific ways. People in the earlier ages used to be very Active and Fluent in everything. But people in this modern age lack the strength and will to do so as they have become very lazy. Social Media can also be a result of Cyber Bullying. People can get bullied online through mean messages from specific individuals, which can make them hurt emotionally. Excess use of Social Media can also result in losing the ability to understand things more and to process with substantial knowledge.
