Secret tips to clear that competitive exam

Competitive exams are the first step towards walking on the road for a successful career. Though they may assess the subject understanding of a student, I strongly believe that no exam result can ever certify the IQ level of an individual when it comes to managing life.

Having said that, I am going to share some very important tricks which helped me to clear the most important Chartered Accountancy exam of India which has a passing % of less than 2% in the whole country. I not only cleared it but also got an all India rank between the top 30 students.

There are 5 basic rules which I use to follow are :

1. Don't compare your studies - Often students have this habit of comparing their study level with that of their friends. Most often than not these comparisons would only give you tension without a planned solution. People would only share best part they have done so far. While it is always recommended to discuss studies with your group to be on the top of the things, comparing what others have done so far with your current status will be rather harmful. Like no two humans are the same, no two students follow same way of studies.

2. Have a smart plan - I started my planning habit from the time of preparing for the competitive exam only.

Plan for each and every day till your final exam. If you have a couple of various subjects, plan for each one of them in detail. Prepare smartly. Look at the sample papers of the last 10 years in detail and by the time you would reach the 10th year, you would have a pattern in your hands. Keeping that pattern in your mind, have your plan ready with you.

3. Keep the boredom away- Often people get too stressed with the pressure of studies, that they get bore after spending an initial one or two hours during the day to study any further. It is better to keep one subject to one or two hours daily only. Combine theory and practical to keep the interest alive in your studies. Try changing the location of your studies. Often studying at one place becomes boring. Join a library or a friend's place to study if you get tired of studying at home.

4. Move your body - Yes as they say 'When your body moves, your brain groves'. Keep a little exercise routine even if it is for 15-20 minutes only. Do a little yoga or go for walks or do cycling, dancing, whatever makes you happy to keep your mind alive.

5. Jackpot - The most important tip for any competitive exam. In the competitive exam, it is important to remember everything on the day fo exam and with the plethora of syllabus and the pressure of only limited time to give the exam, students often struggle to recall what they had learned earlier. To avoid this, make sure that before the exam you have done two to three times revision of the entire relevant syllabus. Yes, two to three times! might sound wired to you, but that's the trick. Plan your studies accordingly.

In the end, have the confidence of achieving the best through your own ability and relax while going for exams. The world is not going to end after the exam. Take it easy and plan well and smart.
