A follow up that offers more of the same may have several similarity in terms of quality. If we get the same item twice, it could be good or harmful, depending on how its predecessor handled it. Percy Jackson: Sea of Monster is a sequel that is essentially identical to its predecessor, thus how you feel about it will depend entirely on how you felt about the first one.

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monster chronicles the adventures of Percy Jackson and his companions as they search for the fabled Golden Fleece and attempt to avert the return of an old evil. In keeping with the first, this sequel includes some good concepts that are rushed through before they have a chance to fully develop. A number of mythological monsters are introduced, along with new and established characters, without giving them enough time to be fully explored. It feels like a succession of side trips rather than one exciting adventure. Any barriers that arise are quickly overcome by story points or by the villain just forgetting how fundamentally strong our heroes are. Any sense of peril in the hero's quest is suppressed by these shortcomings.T he conversation varies from embarrassingly rehashed terrible phrases to whole segments that are devoted to exposition. Even what it does do right doesn't make a big difference for the writing. Moving quickly between each set piece ensures that there is never a dull time. Its fast tempo makes it simple to overlook its mysterious moments. Notwithstanding the characters' lack of interest, the story is told in a straightforward manner that is simple to follow and comprehend. Its tone is constant and doesn't struggle with who it wants to be. Similar to the original, the tale had potential that was sadly never realized.

In his role as Percy Jackson, Logan Lerman returns and delivers a strong performance. Lerman possesses the charisma and charm necessary to see the movie through, but he isn't given much room to convey the feelings of his characters. Percy's character and Lerman's acting potential are only partially realized. Annabeth makes a comeback, along with Alexandra Daddario. More effectively than the movie itself, her portrayal of a weak side to her powerful character and her convincing chemistry with Lerman convey the concept of a possible romance angle. Despite this, she does not have as many opportunities as Lerman to demonstrate her strength in acting and character. Screen time for Brandon T. Jackson has been significantly decreased .He does a good job playing the archetypal best friend comedy role. The script simply asks him to accomplish that one thing. The remaining members of the cast also fare poorly. Not enough time to develop their roles, nor enough material to work off of. strictly adhering to the instructions in the script. Good acting from the ensemble, if not very profound. Chris Columbus and Thor Freudenthal both prefer contemporary music since Fall Out Boy comes to mind when one thinks about Greek mythology. As a result, there is no sense of anything becoming huge, and the music becomes forgettable. It's not light on the decent CGI effects, though. Everything, including the performer, always seems plastic when CGI is utilized. While some of the computer generated imagery does include some inventive set pieces and interesting creature designs, it lacks impact and doesn't really deliver.

Even though Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters is more expansive, it nevertheless makes the same flaws as its predecessor and moves too quickly to let the plot develop, keeping it from realizing its full potential. It would be an understatement to say that it is more of the same, carrying over the strengths and shortcomings of its predecessor. Depending on how you feel about the first movie, it should be easier for you to decide because it doesn't really reinvent the franchise for the better or worse.
