Narrative

One enigmatic woman who lives among the villagers, Kara becomes their best chance of survival as the forces of a despotic governing force threaten to destroy a tranquil community on the edge of a far off moon. Kara gathers a small group of warriors, including outsiders, rebels, peasants, and war orphans from many worlds who are all driven by a desire for vengeance and redemption. Kara is tasked with gathering skilled combatants who will join her in making an improbable stand against the Mother World. With decades in the making, Zack Snyder, the director of 300, Man of Steel, and Army of the Dead, now brings us REBEL MOON, an epic science fantasy event film. The troops of a despotic governing power attack a tranquil colony on the edge of space, and Kara an enigmatic foreigner who lives among the villagers, becomes their only chance of surviving. Kara gathers a small group of fighters after being given the mission to locate skilled combatants who will join her in waging an unbeatable stand against the Mother World Outsiders, rebels, peasants, and war orphans from various worlds who are united by a desire for vengeance and atonement. An epic struggle for the fate of a galaxy is fought, forging a new army of heroes as the shadow of a whole Realm descends upon the most unlikely of moons.

Countdowns

The two films that will make up the first installment of the Rebel Moon franchise will be shot back-to-back. The sequel, dubbed Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver, was formally announced by August of that year and was slated for publication on April 19, 2024. The story's further chapters are still being developed, and as of December 2023, the script for the third movie was already under development.Although Snyder has said that the movie is meant to be the first in a trilogy and that it will be followed by a "trilogy of sequels," which suggests four in all, it is unclear exactly what his ambitions are for the length of the series.
