Usually there is no prerequisite to become a parent, other than ofcourse being fertile. It is because of this, people with varied mind set and conditions (Physical, financial, geographical and mental) become parent to these fragile souls of the universe and keep wondering about the output they expected.
Giving birth to a child is like enrolling for a top MBA entrance exam course. it totally depends on how to take up the challenge ahead on what marks you get.
No I really do not mean to sound objective here. This is very emotional topic, but life do not run on emotions only. Do we really prepare ourselves to become a parent? Well I am not talking about the preparations to conceive a baby!. It is about how mentally and financially sound we are to ensure that we would be able to deliver the true values of a good human being to our child. And that truly depends on what value system do we carry with us.
If we are very material in our values , the same would get translated to the child. If a parent values more of life and happiness than these material things, the same would get translated to the child as well.
While being a parent one need to constantly think about what do they expect out of their life and is the same reflection they see in the pre defined out come they have decided for their child ?
Becoming a parent does not makes us own the child automatically . This soul has his/her own existence which is separate from that of ours.
Keep your outcome clear. You are the prime source of resources for your child, to achieve what he is destined to achieve as per his own interest, nature, work and efforts. While you can influence it to a certain level, do not expect a large impact.
What is expected out of you is to be true to your own responsibilities towards your child.
If you are supposed to give love, give unconditional love without the bargain on the outcome.
If you are supposed to provide food, give it with love and respect within your available means and knowledge.
If you are supposed to give education give what you feel is good. Trust yourself first.
Your child will benefit immensely with your love in form of food, education, confidence you input than your readings and training.
