In this article, We will know about the top 10 Religious Festival of India:-

1)- Holi--- It is the Festival of colors and gulal. IT is celebrated during the month of March. People throw colors on each other and exchange greetings. People enjoy sweets and a special dish Gujhiya.

2)- Dussehra--- This Festival falls in the month of October. It is celebrated in honor of Rama's victory over Ravana. This Festival is celebrated for ten days. For the first nine days, Ramlila is celebrated in staged. On the tenth day, the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhkarna, and Meghnad are burnt. A big fair is held in every town and city. Thousands of people go to see the fair. Dussehra marks the victory of good over evil.

3)- Diwali--- Diwali is the festival of lights. On this day, besides the lighting of the lamp, people wear new clothes and exchange greetings, gifts, and sweets with friends and relatives. They decorate their houses with flowers, twigs and colors them. Children burst firecrackers.

         Diwali night is a colorful night. People, especially businessmen, pray to Goddess Laxmi and regards Diwali as the New year day. They start new account books on this day. They pray to Goddess Laxmi for good business in the coming year.

4)- Durga Puja--- It is an important Festival of India, a particular area in West Bengal. It is celebrated at the same time as Dussehra. Goddess Durga is worshipped by people. On the last day, the idols of Goddess Durga are immersed in a river, pond, or lake.

5)- Ganesh Chaturthi--- Ganesh Chaturthi is a Festival of Hindus held in the month of August and September. People celebrate the birth of Lord Ganesha, who removes obstacles and bestows wisdom and prosperity. The Festival begins with the installation of God and ends on the tenth day when the idol is carried in a procession to be immersed in a river. It is celebrated all over India, especially in Maharashtra, where it is celebrated with a lot of pomp and show.

6)- Janmashtami--- This Festival is held in the month of July/August to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna. Temples are decorated, showing the scenes from the life of Krishna.

7)- Raksha Bandhan--- On this day, sisters tie Rakhi (a thread) on the right wrist of their brothers and pray for their safety.

8)- Christmas--- Christmas is celebrated on 25th December as the birthday of Jesus Christ all over the world. 

        It is celebrated mainly by Christians. Christmas trees are brought home and decorated. People wear new clothes, offer prayers at church, and wish Merry Christmas to each other. The main attraction for the children is Santa Claus, who brings gifts for them.

9)- Eid--- Muslims celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Zuha. During the month of Ramzan, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset. At the end of Ramzan comes Eid-ul-Fitr. People go to mosques and offer namaz. They embrace and wish each other 'Eid Mubarak.' A special dish sewing is prepared. Eid-ul-Zuha or Bakrid is celebrated by the sacrifices of sheep and goats.

10)- Gurupurab--- Birthday of the Sikh gurus are celebrated as Gurupurab. Huge processions are taken out throughout the cities. People go to Gurudwaras to listen to Gurbani from the holy book 'Guru Granth Sahib. ' Langar is held to distribute holy food to everyone.
