Mistake

The story is about a son and his mother who lived at a village in West Bengal. The woman was ugly, looking with a dark complexion, and she was one-eyed. She was poor. As her son is grown up, the poor woman sent her son to school for education. She earned some money by working as a domestic help in the neighboring area for her livelihood.

 , The woman used to visit the school along with the son to drop and pick up the child from school. .As her mother was odd-looking, the boy named Pratap Kumar did not like her mother to come to his school. He felt ashamed whenever his mother visits the school. One day he requested her mother not to visit the school to see him. He also expressed that he feels uneasiness amid his friends if she visits a school. The reason for his unwillingness in this regard is the mother's odd look.

After a few years, Pratap was sent to Kolkata, the capital city of West Bengal, for higher studies. After completion of education, he started the business for his earnings at Kolkata. He arranged finance from reliable friends. .By the time he forgot to visit the village to see his poor mother. However, he was quite successful in his business and earned a good amount of money.

The poor mother passed her time in grief. She always prayed to God for the wellbeing of her only child. She never forgot to feed sweets to some children on some occasions in memory of her son. Especially on her son's birthday. The boy became rich and married a beautiful girl from a wealthy family of Kolkatta. He settled his life in   Kolkatta. He became so busy with his business and family that he did not get time to see visit his mother.

After a few years, one day, Pratap remembered his mother. He guessed that by the time his mother might have died. He planned to visit the village so that he could take charge of his parental properties.

So, he visited the village after two decades.He found many changes in the village and came to know that his mother died before two years.He entered his house.At that time, the house was occupied by one of his cousin sisters. He found a locked trunk on a corner of the house. He opened the trunk and found some goods and a letter addressed to him. He read the letter and broke out with tears in his eyes.In the letter, The letter was written as follows ;

"Dear son, you always hated me for my look.Once my look was beautiful.You were very fond of homemade roti, and One day while preparing roti for you, the stove got fire accidentally. As a result, the fire caught my clothes, causing a burn to my face.This is  the reason for dark complexion.."The letter continued.

 Dear Son, "When your age was about five, you had an eye infection.  One of your eyes needed an operation as per Doctor.  I had to donate one of my eyes to make your eye alright. After that day, I became one-eyed."

 Prahlad was surprised to read the content of the letter. After reading the letter, Pratap realized that her mother sacrificed her life for sale wellbeing.

 Pratap became frustrated with his mistakes and repented. He always advised other children to love and respect their parents after his realization.
