- The United Kingdom's coronavirus death toll rises to 881 by 24 hours, the official said on Thursday, as Prime Minister Boris Johnson was moved out of intensive care but remained in the hospital to receive treatment for COVID-19. Meanwhile, Spain reported 683 additional deaths, a lower number compared to the previous two days, while the overall number of fatalities in the United States linked to the coronavirus topped 15000.
- Egypt recorded 139 new cases, bringing its total since the start of the outbreak to 1699, according to a healthy ministry statement. The Arab world most populous country also recorded 15 new deaths, raising the total number of fatalities 118. The Italian government is planning to extend its lockdown up to May 3; two tracks union sources told Reuters News Agency after meeting the ministers. The lockdown closing most Italian businesses and preventing people from leaving their homes for all but essential needs have been in place since March 9 and were due to end on April 13. However, the number of newly hospitalized patients in the hardest-hit state of New York has dropped to a one percent increase.

In April, Spain confirmed 510 new deaths, the lowest daily toll since March 23, while it added to 4830 new cases. The United Kingdom on Wednesday recorded its highly daily death toll at 938, bringing the number of total coronaviruses linked fatalities to 7097 while infections in the US surged past the 400000 marks.
