Is coffee bad for health?

For years, doctors warn people to avoid coffee because it can increase the risk of heart disease and stunt growth. They worry that people can become addicted to the high amount of caffeine energy supplied, leading them to want more and more coffee as they become tolerant to the higher amount of caffeine. Experts also worry that coffee has damaging effects on the gastrointestinal tract, which can cause stomach ulcers, heartburn and other ailments.
