Indian Navy rescues 19 Pakistani nationals from pirates, what's the whole story?

Indian Navy's warship INS Sumitra has rescued 19 Pakistani nationals aboard a fishing vessel from sea pirates off the eastern coast of Somalia.

INS Sumitra, the ship from which these people were rescued, was flying the flag of Iran. INS Sumitra is deployed in the Gulf of Aden in the eastern region of Somalia for anti-piracy and security operations.

News agency PTI quoted Indian Navy spokesperson Commander Vivek Madhwal as saying, “Another operation against pirates off the eastern coast of Somalia was successful. INS Sumitra rescued fishing vessel Al-Naimi and 19 crew members on board. Along with this, 11 Somali pirates have also been captured.”

According to him, within 36 hours, INS Sumitra has rescued a hijacked vessel and its crew for the second time in the Arabian Sea. 17 of them were from Iran and 19 from Pakistan. Earlier on January 29, INS Sumitra rescued the people of another ship. Amid tensions between Pakistan and India related to border and terrorism India stood up once again proved that Peace and sovereignty still can become biggest weapon.

Both these operations were carried out in the southern Arabian Sea. Where the Indian Navy successfully intercepted these fishing vessels before they were misused as 'mother ships' for acts of piracy on merchant ships.

According to an Indian Express report, the Indian Navy's marine commandos, known as Marcos, thwarted a hijacking attempt in the North Arabian Sea on January 26.
