HYDROSHERE

1-Oceans

2-Lakes

3-Rivers

4-Agents of Degradation

Oceans

There are 5 major oceans:

1-Pacific Ocean (deepest ocean, named by Ferdinend Magellen, most islands are found there)

2-Atlantic Ocean (having longest Costline, busiest ocean in term of trade and transport)

3-Indian Ocean (named after India, deepest than Atlantic and Arctic Ocean)

4-Arctic Ocean (most shallow, least Saline Ocean)

5-Southern Ocean (near Antarctica Ocean)

Lakes

There are of differnt types of lakes based on formation:

*Tectonic Lakes (i.e Lake Liticaca in Andes is world's highest lake, Lake Baikal in Russia deepest lake it is)

*Crater Lakes/Caldera (i.e Lonar Lake in Moharashtrn, Lake Oregon in U.SA)

*Glacial Action (i.e Dal-Lake, Wular Lake, Lake Superior world's largest fresh water storage lake in U.S.A)

*Formed by Sand Dunes (i.e Chilika Lake, Pulicant Lake)

*Ox bow lake (i.e Vaitarna, Tamsa lake)

SOME IMPORTANT LAKES ARE:

1- Largest fresh water lake (lake superior U.S.A)

2-Longest lake by area (Cupsion Sea salty water)

3-Deepest lake (lake Titicucu in south america)

4-Largest lake of Africa (lake victoria-Nile River)

Rivers

The river brings about changes on the surface of earth through it's three-fold action of erosion, transportation and deposition.

THE EROSIONAL WORK OF RIVER:

1-Hydraulic action

2-Corrosion or Abrasion

3-Solution

LAND FORMS FORMED BY RIVER:

A river forms a large variety of landforms right from it's source to it's mouth by it's Erosional, Transportational and Depositional work. From this point of view, the entire course of river is divided into three parts:

*The Upper Course (George, Canyon, V-Shaped Valley, Waterfalls, Rapids, Pot Hole)

*The Middle Course (Alluvial Cones and Alluvial Fans, Rivers Meandering and Oxbow lakes)

*The Lower Course (Braided stream, Natural levees and flood plains, Delta)

Agents of Degradation

There are four Agents of Degradation:

1-Waves

2-Glaciers

3-Rivers

4-Ground water

These four major impacts play an important role in world of Hydrosphere, the spheres of earth are all related to each other that's why when we study about one sphere it brings knowlwdge ko another sphere. Like the same case here we concerned the atmosphere as well as biosphere role in hrdrosphere1
