How to sign up for Diablo 2: Resurrected Alpha

Though it's leaked ahead of time, Diablo 2: Resurrected is still the biggest thing BlizzConline has released, the updated version of the classic dungeon-crawler has definitely improved the visuals. To be honest, the game almost looks brand-new.

Diablo 2: Resurrected

However, Blizzard does have a track record of remastering games giving them a spotty touch, in particular -- Warcraft lll: Reforged. The release got a negative reception because of some missing features and very little meaningful improvements.

Of course, the players must be pondering over the fire of Diablo 2: Resurrected, but it looks like this time the developers are being cautious on avoiding the same mistake, and have decided to utilize an alpha test with the fans to be sure the official release will get a good review.

How to sign up for Diablo 2: Resurrected and when will invitations begin?

Well, good news, signing up to join Diablo 2: Resurrected is quite an easy task, and all you have to do is follow the steps given below:

1- Go to the Diablo 2: Resurrected official website and choose "opt-in" to join the technical alpha team.

2- Enter your Blizzard account information. Now, wait for your invitation.

When will I receive the invitation?

Well, here's the bad news. Though invitations began rolling out on Friday April 9th at 10 a.m EST and expectations are, invitations will go in waved to accepted players. Considering the amount of players who must've signed up by now, you don't stand a chance. But, worry not as the selection process is handled randomly, so there is still a chance for you to be invited, that's if you sign up asap.

Matter of fact, producer Matthew Cederquist told during the BlizzCon, a technical alpha test will also take place shortly allowing the players to give their feedback on the game so Blizzard can implement them to make the game better.

Though the developer will ensure they won't stray away from the original formula.

You can sign up on the official Diablo website for the alpha test.

Diablo 2 older version is still available for playing

Designer Andre Abrahamian said the team intends to maintain the core of the original Diablo 2, and have no intention in replacing the original game. Therefore, players who want to continue playing the older version of Diablo 2, can do so.

The game is based on the current live version 1.14 for players providing the same authentic thrill as always.

However, the current version requires a bit of tweaking, so possibility is the future version could be tweaked.

And, by the looks of things, looks like Blizzard wants you to forget about the previous versions and remember the current one alone.

The future of gaming

One that's gonna change for the best is the note-worthy improvements made towards the anti-bots and anti-cheats. And, since Diablo 2: Resurrected is on modern Battle.net, Blizzard said there's going to be much more protections here against any duplication.

Where can you play the game?

Diablo 2: Resurrected is coming on many platforms PC, Xbox, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PS5 later this year. With Vicarious Visions folding into Blizzard's developing team, the result should be good. They have previously created the excellent Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 remake, me and they have a good experience with makeovers on older games.
