How to prepare natural colors for Holi?

 Many times synthetic, chemical substances are mixed in Holy colors Gulal-Abir.  They can harm the skin and eyes, they can cause different types of allergies, or there can be irritation and rashes on the skin.  On the other hand, if these colors, accidentally enter the stomach through the mouth, they also harm health. 

                                 

 That's why it would be better that you prepare these colors, at home for Holy. Our nature, all kinds of natural colors are present in the whole environment.  What is needed is just a little knowledge and hard work, because before preparing natural colors, flowers, and leaves have to be collected, they have to be crushed.  There is also time for one, so start preparing now.

 

Make natural color like this:- 

 

1 Green color:-

 Mehndi can be used for this.  A very good green color can be prepared by mixing flour in henna.  Wet green color can be prepared by mixing the paste of spinach, neem, and coriander leaves in water.  Natural green gulal can be prepared by drying and grinding gulmohar leaves properly. 

 

 2 Yellow color:- 

Pure yellow color will be prepared by mixing turmeric and gram flour.  If desired, Multani mitti can also be added to turmeric instead of gram flour.  For wet color, one tablespoon of turmeric can be boiled in two liters of water.  After thickening this solution a little, it will become absolutely firm.  If you want, you can also boil marigold or amaltas flowers in water and leave them overnight and play Holi with them in the morning.  Dry flower petals can be ground finely and smoothly and mixed with talcum powder to make the color. 

 

 3 Pink color:- 

Natural pink and saffron colors can be prepared by soaking orange kachina flowers overnight.  Bright wet orange color can be prepared by soaking Tesu (Palash) flowers in water overnight.  It is said that even Lord Krishna used to play Holi with Tesu flowers.  The color of Tesu flowers is considered to be the traditional color of Holi.  If the flowers of Harsingar are kept soaked in water, it becomes orange in color.  Wet color can be prepared by grinding beetroot finely and filtering its juice.

 

4 Blue color: -

 For blue color, grind the beans that grow on indigo plants and boil them in water to make wet blue color. Natural blue color can also be prepared by drying blue hibiscus flowers or blue gulmohar and grinding them.  However, any blue flowers (not wild ones) can be used. 

 

 5 Red color:- 

Dried red sandalwood can be used as red gulal.  Wet color can be prepared by adding water to red sandalwood powder.  By the way, red color can also be made by drying hibiscus flowers and with the help of vermilion seeds.  Some people also make red color from red rose flowers, burnish flowers, and pomegranate peels. Grind the carrots finely and dry them.  Make dry color by adding talcum powder to it.

 

Play sandalwood Holi:- 

Prepare a wet paste by grinding sandalwood.  Turmeric powder can be added to it, if you play Holi with it, your skin will be benefited. You can also prepare it by buying sandalwood powder. 

 

 Useful Tips:- 

To deepen the color prepared from rose, pink organic food color can be added to it.  Food color can also be used in green, yellow, blue etc.  • Two to three drops of essential oil can be added to add fragrance to the colours.  • After preparing the colors, keep them in the fridge as they may spoil.
