How to overcome loneliness?

Loneliness is not only a word but also a kind of a nightmare to the present generation. We all suffer from loneliness in daily life. Sometimes it becomes more serious to many of us, and we can't understand how to erase these creepy feelings. These woeful, dolorous memories are embedded in our mind so badly that it leads to unfathomed depression. When our close person leaves us or when we face some complications in relationships, loneliness gradually devours us. In such a condition, we are not able to understand what's going on in our mind.

So this article, I hope, helps you to understand what the loneliness is and how to deal with it.

  1. Loneliness is just a feeling, not the reality: First, we have to realize that loneliness is self-made fear; there is no connection with reality. Actually, our mind is quite accustomed to getting company, attention, care, and love. But when a person leaves us, or we face problems in our life, then we feel alone. That time, we should remember that it is not more than a feeling. But if you Can't understand the reason for loneliness and try to link it with reality, then it may welcome many complications in your life as well as depression. So better to take it very easy without overreacting.
  2. Create a list of some activities: Depending on someone to remove your 'loneliness' feeling is a very momentary solution as you will feel alone again when the person leaves you. Believe me, it is not a good solution; instead, you can create a chart of activities that you love to do like singing, dancing, painting, traveling, reading storybooks, watching movies, etc. So, create a chart on the things that make you happy and that you can do by yourself. 'Enjoy your own company' is the best mantra that you should follow when you will feel alone and always try to make yourself busy with various activities. I think it will work!
  3. Build good relations with your family: Family is the best gift God has given us, but we never give our attention to them, and it not only affects our relationship but also affects us. So, building a good bonding with family members is very, very important. If you have no good memories with your family, then try to make a strong and sweet bonding with them and do share your problems, and it would definitely work as an elixir.
  4. Do meditation: Meditation has healing power, and it helps to understand your problem and the source of it. So, meditation in daily life has a significant role in calming and Controlling emotions. First, find a quiet and calm place, sit there, close your eyes, and focus your breathing and look into your inner world. Do it every day for 10 to 20 min.
  5. Discuss your problem to a therapist:  Though sometimes finding the actual problem and to cure it seems very difficult for someone who is in a very critical situation. So in that case, you should talk to a therapist who will help you to find out the problems and also will help you to get rid of this situation.
