Most of the time interpersonal skills are important for freshers who are are giving interviews to the recruiter for the job. Interpersonal skills are the skills that a person employees while interacting with other people.

The majority of interaction with others take place through communication. Therefore interpersonal skills are often termed as communication skills for every people skills.

However, interpersonal skills also includes a person overall behaviour habits attitude manners and appearance since this factor influence how well we get along with others.

The development of interpersonal skills starts early in life and is influenced by family and caregivers. Later it is influenced by our observations of the society and world around us example-friends, teacher and social media.

Everybody possesses good qualities and some not so good qualities inspite of your weaknesses what's important is to recognise the strength and trust in yourself and keep on doing the hard work.

It is bound to give you success in life on the other hand you must try to overcome your weakness to achieve self-satisfaction.

  • EFFECTIVE LISTENING, the ability  to listen effectively is a core skill in a range of interpersonal situation.
  • QUESTIONING, the ability to use questions that maximize the amount of relevant information that is gathered in an exchange serves as an enhancement of communicative efficiency of a interaction.
  • HELPING OR FACILITATING, helping others is considered as an important aspect of interpersonal competence.
  • EMPHATISE, understand that people may have different points of view try to see things from their perspective 
  • ASSERTIVENESS, one should neither be passive nor aggressive. Being assertive is about expressing your feelings and believe in a way that others can understand and respect.
  • REFLECT AND IMPROVE, learn from your mistakes and successes. Think about previous conversation and other interpersonal interaction always keep a positive attitude.

 

 

10 TIPS FOR GOOD INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

  1. First listen, Communication is a two way process; getting your message across depends on understanding the other person.
  2. Show interest in people when communicating with them. Remember people are more attracted to those who are interested in them.
  3. Don't be impulsive. Negative Gestures should be avoided.
  4. Smile and use eye contact. It's the most positive signal that you give.
  5. Ask questions. Its great way to show people that you are interested in them. 
  6. If the other person's opinion differs from yours, then try to to understand the reason behind it. The more you understand means the more you will be able to make the person understand your point of view.
  7. Be assertive and value their input as much as your own. Don't be pushy and stubborn. Try to balance.
  8. Be enthusiatic while speaking. Use your voice and body language to emphasize this.
  9. Learn to appreciate, be helpful and cooperative. Never demotivate your team member.
  10. Learn from your interactions.
