How to get New Sanrio Villagers and Furniture in New Horizons for Animal Crossing

Here's how to get them:

The New Horizons' 1.9.0 update comes with a variety of new content for the game, but the most notable addition is the new clothing, furniture, and the Sanrio-inspired villagers. All characters and items are bond to the Animal Crossing Sanrio Amiibo cards, so you have to have them before you can invite the villagers and begin ordering the furniture.

The first Sanrio Amiibo cards were launched in Europe and Japan in 2017 following the Animal Crossing : New Leaf Big Welcome update of Amiibo. Matter of fact, the cards set were not available in the US at the time but are expected to go on sale at the Target stores starting March 26. The cost of the pack is $6 and you get all six Sanrio Amiibo cards, and each card unlocks items and villagers based on themes after the popular Sanrio characters My Melody and Hello Kitty.

In case, you have imported the Sanrio Amiibo cards recently, you'll need them now so you can unlock the items and new villagers or else wait until later this month, and pick one-by-one on so in the States. Once you get the cards, here's how you can get the Sanrio villagers and furniture.

How to get Sanrio Villagers and Furniture

Once the Animal Crossing Sanrio Amiibo cards are in your hands, you can invite each character to your campsite, just like you invite other villagers.

Step 1: From the NookStop terminal in your Resident Services Building select Invite Amiibo and scan any one of the Sanrio Amiibo cards to invite the villager to your campsite for a visit. If you want, you can scan the villagers on Harv island and take screen shots in the game's Photopia mode.

Step: Once your Sanrio Amiibo card is scanned, you can order the clothing and furniture associated with the character. All of them are listed in the Promotions tab in the Nook Shopping section. It's the same place where your recent Mario items were added as well. Remember, the fastest way to unlock Sanrio items, you either scan the Harv island villagers, or scan the Nook Shop cards, do not invite them to your campsite. Since you're going to get only one Amiibo card per day for your campsite, it will take you a minimum of six days to invite the entire set and unlock the Sanrio furniture.

You get six Sanrio Amiibo cards and the list is below associated with their unlocked character:

  • Cinnamoroll - Chai (elephant)
  • Hello Kitty - Rilla (gorilla)
  • My Melody - Chelsea (deer)
  • Pompompurin - Marty (cub)
  • Kiki & Lala - Étoile (sheep)
  • Kerokerokeroppi - Toby (rabbit)

To invite these characters to live on your island, you'll need to follow the same process you used with the Amiibo villagers -- means you'll need a minimum of three days to convince them. For this, you'll need to talk with them while they are at their campsite, you'll also have to craft an item for them. You'll have to repeat this for two more days to eventually get the villagers to move to your campsite. Move the characters only if you want the characters, cause if you're doing this for unlocking their items, you need to only scan the cards, no need to invite them.

Next update will be added in next article as it comes, stay tuned!
