How To Get a Desirable Job During This Pandemic Times?

People have become more accomplished at finding new job opportunities nowadays. Most of the traditional strategies for searching for jobs are no longer popular and although are still an option, are not quite as effective as other perspectives. As technology ever-grows, the olden days of circulating job ads in the classified section of the newspaper are certainly in the past and people have become more creative, making use of new strategies when it comes to finding out about new vacancies.

If you’re a bit lost and nervous about where to look to find out opportunities, here I’m mentioning a few places that you could start.

1. Networking plays a pivotal role:

Many job vacancies in a local remote region to global are not actually advertised, so in order to find out notifications about these vacancies, job seekers must find a way to get their foot in the right door. Connecting with the right people at the right time can be extremely helpful in locating these hidden jobs and getting yourself known to those particular individuals in the industry. Even if they don’t have any openings in their curriculum, there is always a chance that they know someone in another company who does. In this digital era, networking it is not necessarily had to be in person. It can be done online through social media networking sites such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, etc.

2. Employee – Referrals:

Some companies including MNCs offer a finder’s fee to their employees who refer a successful and capable candidate to the company as an incentive to assist in the ongoing hiring process. If any employee of a company sends you an invitation to apply for a job vacancy, and you successfully landed the job, do you not have to look for a job yourself, and your referrer also gets a bonus. So, it’s a win-win situation. If you happen to know anyone who works at a particular company you’re interested in, make your desire known to them that you are looking for a job in that company and they may be able to help you out.

3. Keep an Eye on Company Official websites:

If you already have knowledge of the company that you want to work for, check out the company’s official website regularly and look for their “Career” section. Most of the companies post their job vacancies in this section and if there are no such listed notifications at least you can find their contact details and able to enquire about any vacancies that they may not be advertising. It is important to make a list of companies that you’d like to work for and need to check out their websites on a regular basis. In general, this will take a few minutes a day but the returns could be huge.

4. Consultancy websites:

Companies often post their job vacancies on career websites such as Naukri.com, CareerBuilder.com, Monster.com, and even on my website NaukriGarden. They Google the world for job vacancies and notify in their websites. These job search engines help job seekers to specify their search criteria and display job vacancies that meet the specified criteria only. This type of processing will help the job seeker narrow down his/her search.

5. Social media:

Once you have identified a few companies that you would be interested in working at, I prefer you to check out whether they have any social media accounts and don’t forget to follow them. Often they will advertise their vacancies via social media and with immediate effect; those ads will come straight to your newsfeed. You may also wish to connect or follow the hiring manager of these companies on LinkedIn or Twitter to get you known your capability in the relevant work field and identify yourself as a potential employee.

6. Job fairs and Job Mela:

Industry-specific career fairs and job melas are a great way to meet the people who work within your sector and to find out about vacancies at different companies. Nowadays many state governments like Andhra Pradesh are conducting job fairs with DRDA and some trusted third-party consultancies such as VIKASA etc., in order to reduce unemployment.  Pop along to check out the companies that might interest you, and don’t forget to bring some copies of your resumes. Talk to recruiters and company representatives about what kind of role you are looking for. Some companies may even interview potential candidates on site.

7. Recruitment agencies:

If you have trouble finding a job, there is always professional help. Some companies, especially larger ones, hire through recruitment agencies. These recruiters locate candidates to fill these vacancies or find positions for job seekers who need help finding work. Identify a recruiter who is hiring into your industry and get yourself on their books so they can contact you or put you forward when a suitable opportunity arises.

If you follow the above strategies, you definitely get the job that you desired.
