How to Ensure Safety and Versatility with Custom Baseball Nets

Nylon is a great choice for all types of sports training facilities, stadiums, and school playing fields. Its versatility offers many benefits that make it the top option for baseball nets.

Nylon material

When it comes to batting cage netting, nylon is the most durable material. However, the initial break strength of nylon deteriorates quickly if exposed to sunlight and moisture.

To extend the life of your baseball nets, make sure you choose a nylon net with a dip treatment that will prevent it from absorbing water and losing its strength. A dipped net will last 3x longer than a non-dipped net.

ci Fabrics manufactures baseball backstop nets using UV stabilized heavy duty nylon material. The netting is 1 3/4" square and bound with 5/16" black poly rope. These nettings are perfect for stadium backstops, barrier netting, dugout rail netting and batting tunnel nets. We also provide engineering services for fan safety netting at MLB stadiums, protecting fans from foul balls while allowing them to be up close and personal with the action on the field.

Customization

Whether it’s for batting practice or to safeguard nearby property from stray balls, custom baseball nets are a valuable addition to any sports facility. Their customizable sizing options ensure optimal performance and fit. They also provide a variety of other benefits for player training and facility protection.

For example, some netting can be made to retract laterally and save space for other purposes. This is an excellent option for indoor facilities that need to clear the space quickly for other activities. Other netting can be designed to extend vertically and be operated hands-free with a pulley system.

Another example of a custom-built baseball netting is a tunnel or enclosure net that was built to a specific sizing for a university client. It was 12' high x 28' wide x 60' long and constructed from DuPont 66-728 Twisted-Knotted Nylon Netting. This netting was finished with a polyester rope border on all additional edges and had a weighted bottom rope edge with lead core rope sewn into the top and two sides of the net.

Versatility

The versatility of custom baseball nets makes them a perfect option for all types of sports netting needs. Whether you need to protect spectators, stop stray balls hitting facilities, or simply keep the kids out of a batting cage, these durable, professional-grade nets are your best choice.

For batting cages, our 100% twisted knotted nylon baseball net is ideal. It's UV stabilized & rot proof to ensure long lasting performance. This #42 twine netting also comes with the option of adding a lead core rope bottom. The lead rope is put inside the bottom rope border of the net to prevent it from blowing up in the wind or from balls hitting the bottom of the net. The top and two sides have regular rope borders.

For high school, college, and pro stadiums, our premium UDR2 Dyneema backstop netting system is the ultimate solution. This revolutionary netting eliminates poles and allows the netting to retract vertically, giving the facility flexibility for multiple uses.

Safety

The netting industry is a detail-oriented business, which is why many amateur and professional baseball clubs choose to invest in specialized nets that enhance safety. These multipurpose barriers can protect spectators and facilities, as well as keep stray baseballs from flying out of the field or backstop enclosure.

For example, the following drawing showcases a series of large netting panels that were built and shipped for a municipal sports stadium project. These netting panels were constructed with #36 X 1-3/4'' twisted-knotted nylon netting, with 5/16'' polyester rope bordered perimeter edges and interior horizontal rope rib-lines at specific interval locations in order to line up with the installation framing on-site.

Aside from the premium nylon material, these nets are also reinforced at their intersection point with a layer of lead core rope. This reinforcement allows the netting to withstand a larger amount of force from errant bats and balls without failing. They are also rot proof and UV stabilized for long term protection.
