How to Crop Production and it's management

Based on the seasons , there are two main crop season in India .

(1) Kharif Crops.          (2) Rabi Crops 

What is Agriculture ?

The practice of growing plants are in bluk at a place is called Domestication of plant or agriculture. 

What is Produce ? 

The crops are grown on ground or in water we obtain from crop is called Produce .

There are two types :-

1.) Kharif Crops : This crop is monsoon based crops , and are grown during June to October.

Example - Pigeon pea (Arhar) , Cotton , Soyabean etc.

2.) Rabi Crops : This crop is not dependent monsoon and are grown during November to April .

Explain: Wheat , Pea , Potato , Barley etc.

What is Crumbs ?

The ploughed or tilling filed may have big pieces of soil Is called Crumbs.

Selection of seed - 

Good quality seeds is the next important step of crop production. In India , a government body called the NATIONAL SEEDS CORPORATION (NSC) Is involved I the production of good - quality agriculture seeds.

NSC Has also helped in setting up seed - testing laboratories in different parts of the country. 

Broadcast : Seeds sown by hand by scattering or throwing from top is called  broadcasting.

Transplantation :

the process of transferring of seedlings from one place to another place for cultivation of crop is called transplantation.

What is pests ?

The organisms which cause damage to the crops are called pests. For example insects etc .

To prevent self fertilization anther of one variety of plants are removed by a process called in emasculation .

The green revolution of 1960 to 1970 in India was growth by importing high varieties of wheat from Mexico .

doctor MS swaminathan is regarded as father of green revolution in India. He has developed a new variety of wheat called Sharbati sonora. , while working Indian agriculture institute (IARI ) , New Delhi .

Nitrogen Fixation : 

Nitrogen fixation is the process by which the nitrogen is taken from the atmosphere and is convert into other nitrogen compounds.
