There are several options when it comes to controlling the phone with your voice. Here we show you the way to control your Android mobile using your voice. We are going to use a Google application, called Voice Access, which allows us to do this simply, and which has been on Android for years.

Install Voice Access on your phone

Voice Access is an application that is launched mainly to facilitate the use of an Android phone for people who have difficulties using the touch screen of the same, as it can happen in the case of a disability or if you have a temporary injury. This application will allow the phone to be controlled by voice.

Thanks to the application, it will be possible to have navigation functions (such as asking you to go back or go to the home screen), you can interact with elements on the screen (swipe, click next ...) or ask you to write something. All this without using the screen, controlling your Android phone with your voice in this way.

Voice Access can be installed for free on Android, compatible with all phones from Android 5.0. As with other Google apps, there are no purchases or ads inside.

How to enable it on your phone

Once we have installed this application on the phone, we must proceed to enable or activate it, to start controlling the phone by voice. The steps to follow to proceed with said activation are not complicated, we just have to do this:

  • Open the phone settings.
  • Enter Accessibility.
  • Click on Voice Access (it is at the end of this section many times).
  • Flip the switch to start working.
  • See the tutorial that shows you how it works.

These steps have enabled the operation of the same on the phone. The Voice Access application itself shows the commands that we can use to control an Android mobile phone with our voice. For us to use the application on the phone we will have to grant the permissions it asks for. If you think there is one that should not be requested, if you have Android 10 you can manage them individually, for more comfortable use or management.

How to use it on mobile

When the application has been enabled on the phone, it is now possible to start using it. You will be able to see in the phone's notification tray that Voice Access is already working, so you can start using those commands you want, from those that appear in the application, to be able to perform functions on your phone.

If at some point you do not know very well what command you need to use, you can ask the application "Show Commands" and in this way have access all the commands that are possible to use with Voice Access and thus be able to control your Android mobile using your voice.
