Ms. Urvashi Patole, a Young woman who is the founder of India's first Female Biker Club. She does not afraid to whiz into this space.

The Pune, Maharashtra (India) based bike enthusiast would regularly ride with a mix of male & female groups, till she decided to form an association exclusively for women. And that was how "BIKERNI", India's first & largest women's motorcycle association was born in the year 2011. BIKERNI is the perfect platform for women bikers who don't know how to manifest their passion for bikes, or those on the lookout for likeminded women, says Urvashi. Although BIKERNI is based in Pune, but its wings had been spread out to different major cities in India like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Manali, Chennai, Mysore, Hyderebad, Rajkot, Guwahati, Ahmedabad and Hubli. What is a biker chick and what do they do?

Biker chicks are superior kind of women, who appreciates motorcycles and motorcyclists. On another hand, a girl/woman who rides motorcycles of any make or model also known as Biker Chick. She is the one who never afraid to take control of the destiny, or to take risks. She is gifted with a strong desire for adventure and fun as well, and finds both atop a bike. Biker chicks are not the property of anyone but themselves, and will not be intimidated by social mandates of what girls/ladies/women should and should not do.

Biker chicks are moms, sisters, grammas and daughters. They are the checker at the grocery store, the barmaid at the local drive, the teller at the bank, the kindergarten teacher, and the one stay at home mom. What is the same is that everyone on two wheels rides because they love the way it feels. They like the freedom, the solitude and the solidarity.

Our women never give much importance to become a biker. Becoming a biker chick in a man dominating world can have its challenges. However, it is one of the most exciting and thrilling adventures to date. They always use to think it is for men in gangs. It is a man's world and they see, keep full of their minds with the thought that all bikers are men only.

What is important for a female to become a biker?

TRAINING: As beginner biker, you must be ready to undergo a training course. In many states you have to have an endorsement to be legal to ride. Now, you don't need to take a course to get endorsed, however, it is highly recommended that training is most important area. Also having that endorsement, lowers your insurance.

The training courses are designed to teach you the basics of a motorcycle and the basics of riding. You may claim your local motorcycle dealership to provide you a proper training as offer.

After all above, now you have done the training course, bought a bike and accessories.... Now What!! It is the time to ride and shine. Take your bike for a ride. Learn everything you need to know about it. How it feels when you turn. Take a short trip through your neighbourhood where you can make turns and stops. Find an empty parking lot to practice curves and turns as well. Once you have become mastered then take it on the highway that doesn't get much traffic. From there start setting goals for long distance rides.

Riding a motorcycle, do regular practice with patience. If you are determined you can be up and going in no time. Slowly increase the distance of your practice....so what is stopping you lady riders?

So before going to practical, don't compromise on wearing your safety gear & finally you must have to follow the below things to be equipped yourself with.

1. DRIVING LICENSE: First & foremost thing is that you should have a valid driving license after completing your training immediately.

2. INSURANCE: Like cars, your motorcycle should also be insured with an authorized insurance company. I suggest you to go for First Party Insurance always.

3. HELMET: This is a big purchase and must have it. Why would you dare to ride without?

4. JACKET / VEST: Having a protective jacket is a good thing to have. Protect jackets come with padded shoulder, elbow, and back pads, There are also made to fit snug so they will not come off in case of an accident. A leather vest which many bikers wear off and on their bikes showcase patches.

GLOVEs: You need to protect your fingers as well. You can not just go to the store and pick up any type of gloves. The gloves you decide to purchase need to be fitted so that you have the ability to use your fingers and hands for the brakes and throttle.

BOOTs: Riding in tennis or running shoes is a bad idea. You need a shoe that goes above the ankle for full protection. In this case boots need to have great tread at the bottom so you can have traction on the ground. There are plenty of places you can get boots to start off with that won't empty the wallet.

SUNGLASSEs: Many helmets have the option of the tinted visor or built in sunglasses. Either way, you will need some sort of sunglasses. Sunglasses not only protect your eyes from the sun and wind but it protects from any foreign objects while riding.
