How to add bank account in PhonePe

Adding a bank account allows you to send money to other bank accounts, UPI IDs, make payments to online merchants. It can also be used for making mobile recharges, DTH recharges, even bill payments like water biils, electricity bills, and LPG booking is done through PhonePe.

Let's begin with adding bank account in PhonePe app.

First of all Download the PhonePe app by clicking here.

Note: Make sure that your mobile number is already linked with your bank account. And the same SIM have to be present in the mobile.

 

 

Step 1)

Open PhonePe app and tap on MY MONEY located at bottom bar of homescreen.

 

 

Step 2)

Then tap BANK ACCOUNTS under the Payments section. It will be the first option in the section.

 

 

Step 3)

At the bottom of the screen you will find ADD NEW BANK ACCOUNT, click on it.

 

 

Step 4)

Choose your bank from the given list or simply search your bank name in the search bar. 

 

 

(If your bank name is not present on the list you can't add bank account. But you can use your Debit or credit card to make recharges and to make payments through PhonePe app.)

 

Step 5)

PhonePe finds your account by sending a text message, give permission by pressing ALLOW when prompted.

 

Step 6)

When your bank account details have been found, add your debit card details and hit continue. (DON'T WORRY IT IS SAFE)

 

 

Step 7)

Then set up a 6 digit BHIM UPI pin. Enter the same to confirm.

 

 

(NOTE: If you have already created UPI pin in any other UPI apps, simply enter the 6 digit UPI PIN and your done with Step 7.)

REMEMBER YOUR UPI PIN. IT IS IMPORTANT FOR AUTHENTICATING EVERY TRANSACTION FROM YOUR ACCOUNT.

And Voila! you have added your bank account to PhonePe successfully.

Now you can easily send and recieve money directly from your bank account through PhonePe app.

There are also other UPI payment apps are available such as Google Pay, Paytm on play store which offer the same facilities for users.
