How Namaz Blesses In The Month Of Ramadhan

The holy month of Ramadan is approaching; a time to think, reflect and celebrate. Prepare for your fast with our 2024 Ramadan calendar including sunrise, sunset and prayer times.

Since the Islamic calendar follows the phases of the moon (lunar cycles), Ramadan falls approximately 10 days earlier each year compared to the Gregorian calendar. Allah (swt) uses the phases of the moon as a means of knowing important days such as fasting, pilgrimage and holy month.

Allah (cc) describes the sighting of the moon in the Quran as follows: - They ask you about the crescent, [O Muhammad]. Say: "These are a measure of time for people and for the pilgrimage..." [Baqara 2:189]

Seeing the moon is the sunnah of our Prophet (SAW). In a hadith, our Prophet (pbuh) said: "If you see the halal, quickly, if you see the crescent, break it / If the crescent is covered with clouds, then it is true (approximately) - [Muslim] < br>
As stated in the above verses and hadiths, the imams and scholars use this method to calculate Ramadan days. For important dates in the 2024 Ramadan calendar, please visit the Muslim Aid website. This year, Ramadan is expected to start on March 10 or 11, 2024, depending on the sighting of the moon.

Fitr Feast
This year, after the end of Ramadan, the Eid will fall on April 10 or this date, depending on the month.

Meaning of "Eid al-Fitr" Eid is a time to celebrate with friends, family and community. Fasting is prohibited on the first day of Eid al-Fitr. This holiday traditionally consists of sumptuous food, exchanging gifts, and spending time with loved ones.

Exemplifying the importance of Eid al-Fitr in terms of pre-Islamic holidays, the Prophet (SAW) said:

—Allah is the truth, replace them with something better for you. : Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr. —[Sahih Presented by Abi Dawood]

Eid al-Fitr will begin with the sighting of the moon on April 9, 2024. Eid al-Fitr 2024 is expected to begin on or around April 10. The 2024 date will be slightly different due to the upcoming Islamic lunar month.
