How much do you know about Earth and Milky way galaxy

We are living in this beautiful world which consists of valleys. mountains, rivers, plants and beautiful birds and animals and many more that we can't count. But sometimes when people got fed up with this life or they got some serious troubles they forget that God has given so many things to us, and we have to explore it, and at the same time we have to be grateful, I think all are satisfied with this statement! and that's why I'm here to tell you some interesting facts about our Earth and the Galaxy we are a part of, and some people might know these.

The realization that Earth is a planet and a planet among many others was established in the 17th century by different ancient different Mathematicians, Philosophers, and Astronomers. The name earth is derived from both English and German words "eor(th),ertha" and 'erde' respectively, which means "Ground". One interesting fact about its name: Earth is the only planet that wasn't named after a Roman or Greek god or goddess. For example, Saturn was named after the Roman god of Agriculture.

  • Earth is estimated to formed around 4.5 billion years ago, almost one-third of the age of the Universe.
  • And it is the third planet from the sun, which is 147 million kilometers far away from the Sun.
  • It is the fifth-largest planet in the solar system.
  • The surface area of the earth is about 197 million square miles.
    • It has 3% fresh and 70% salted water, and in 3% of freshwater 2% is frozen under the frozen ice sheets and glaciers that means only 1% or less than 1% water is freshwater found in lakes, rivers and underground.
  • And we have 195 countries in this world (world: the area on the earth where people live and earth is our planet name).

There's so much more about our planet but I don't wanna make you feel bored to tell the whole geometry.

Our Sun and all the planets around it are the part of the galaxy known as a Milky way galaxy. A galaxy is a large group of stars, gas, and dust bound together by gravity.they come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The Milky way is the large barred spiral galaxy. All the stars we see in the night are in our own Milky way galaxy. And our galaxy is called Milky Way because it appears as a Milky Band in the sky when you see it in a really dark area.

It is very difficult to count the number of stars in our Milky Way galaxy from our position. But the best estimates tell that our Milky Way is made up of approximately 10 billion stars.

This is all, hope you guys enjoyed this basic knowledge about our green planet and our Milky Way galaxy.
