At present, the price of one litre of petrol in Delhi is Rs 103.97. While the price of petrol per litre in Noida is Rs 95.51 and in Gurugram it is Rs 95.90. Due to this, most of the customers were going to get UP and Haryana oil-filled.
Modi government gave relief
It is worth noting that the Central Government, giving relief to the general public during the festival, reduced the excise duty on petrol and diesel by five and ten rupees respectively. This brought down oil prices. After this, many state governments had reduced the VAT on petrol and diesel in their respective states. Center had also reduced excise duty
On November 4, the central government had announced to reduce the excise duty on petrol and diesel. After this announcement, the prices of petrol were reduced by Rs 5 per litre and diesel by Rs 10 per litre. After this, the central government had asked the state governments to reduce VAT. After the request of the Center, the state governments in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh had reduced VAT. However, some states did not remove VAT on petrol. The Union Territory of Delhi was also included in these states.
