How can we conserve water?

Need to understand the importance of water in our lives

We need to understand the importance of water.  The declining water level could be a cause for concern in the future.  After two world wars, it is said that if there is a third world war, it will be for water. While this may seem like an exaggeration, there is a little bit of fact in it.  The world's population is growing very fast but drinking water is not growing that much.  And as much as there is potable water on earth, most of the water is in the state of ice. Therefore, as much water as is available has to be used sparingly.  Water should be used sparingly to avoid wastage.

How can we start to conserve the available water?

The drought situation in Chennai was noted by Leonardo DiCaprio in Hollywood.  He shared a photo of the drought situation in Chennai on his Twitter account.  In Rajasthan, people have learned to adapt.
The massive drought in Maharashtra and the subsequent public campaign for water by Nana Patekar, Makrand Anaspure and Aamir Khan was truly admirable.  Dams were built on the land and water was pumped through them.  As a result, the water level increased and the water requirement of the village was met.  Even though it rained heavily in the rainy season, there were water problems in the summer.  The same water seeped into the soil and became available in summer.

How floods are happening again and again in India

few days back there was incident happen in Kedarnath. that everyone knows. again few days back same incident happened. Most of the destruction at Kedarnath was caused by a sudden rapid melting of ice and snow on the Kedarnath Mountain. Last year's floods in Sangli Kolhapur and again this year, seems to be happening again.  At such a time, I think the river connection project should be discussed.  During the monsoon, the rivers in the Konkan flood.  In many villages, village agriculture is being severely damaged and government help is awaited.  If the same water is diverted to drought-prone areas with proper planning, even if both wet and dry droughts are not completely contained, we can take full advantage of this water by avoiding huge losses.  This water should then be diverted to drought-prone areas through river confluence projects, floodplains, or pipelines.

How can we start movement in which we able to involve students?

It would be great if this water conservation work could accommodate the students in the school.  This means that on the one hand, these students will have to contribute a little bit to this work and due to the hard work done to save water, they should be taught to use water carefully and avoid wastage of water.
Looking to the water problem that may arise in the future, we should try our best from now on.

In addition, a group tree planting program should be organized for the students of the school during the rainy season.  So that they will love the trees and the water will stay in the soil due to the roots of the trees.  So, it will have a double benefit.

Today's generation must strive for water from today, otherwise, it will face a huge crisis of water scarcity in the future.
