Who was Christopher Columbus?

Christopher Columbus was born in the 1451in republic of Genoa and began sailing as a teenager. He was an Italian explorer who did trading via voyage across the seas. He had the interest to discover new places all over the world. He worked under the supremacy of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. Under their mastery, he discovered America.

How Christopher Columbus discovered America?

When Christopher Columbus was about to went to voyage for trading, he believed that sailing west would be a faster way to get to India. He went to Spain's King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella, he told them about their route, and both King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella found it intresting and eventually gave Christopher Columbus the financing for the voyage.

On August 3rd of 1492, Christopher Columbus, along with his three ships named Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria set sail. After a stop on Grande Canary, the rest of the trip took five weeks, but on October 12th LAN was spotted

It was an island, and at dawn, Columbus went ashore because he believed in the small earth theory. Columbus thought he was near Japan he called the natives of this island "Indians" because India was what many Europeans called Asia at that time

Columbus then started the trade between the two parties, but it was cleared that the Tiano did not possess the fabled riches of East Asia; however, some of the Tiano's wore gold as jewelry.

Columbus was hungry for gold to bring back to Spain he wandered around searching for a large amount of gold until the Santa Maria one of his ships crashed into a reef of Hispaniola.

Christopher Columbus Mistakes?

In the search for gold Columbus left 39 men at the site to build a colony he promised he would return for them and sailed back to Spain and when he arrived in Europe Columbus was famous he had sailed into the unknown and returned to tell the tale he brought back many things to show.

The Spanish King and Queen, including Taino, 's he had kidnapped, but he did not bring enough gold, so Ferdinand and Isabella equipped Columbus with 17 ships for a second voyage and named him governor of all the lands he discovered.

Columbus was an excellent sailor. He found his way back to his destiny using his keen navigation skills and kept the coordinates of his routes a secret. When the fleet arrived at Hispaniola, they found out that a local chief had killed the 39 men who were left there to build a colony.

They also found out that the same chief ad lots of gold on his land Columbus led a crew on his territory and found a gold quarry. The arrogance of these invaders angered the chief, and soon, fighting broke out to intimidate the head.

But Columbus captured three of his captains and beheaded them in public this enraged the Taino's and disturbed many of the Spanish.

To make things worse that were soon no gold left to mine, Columbus sent letters back to Spain on a ship and exaggerated the amount of gold that was found to produce more profit for the king and Queen.

Columbus Suggested starting a slave trade without waiting for a response he seized over 500 natives and sent them to Spain most of the remaining natives fought against this injustice. Still, Columbus unleashed terror on them that was worse than slavery.

Because of this much oppression, he sailed to Spain in 1496 to defend his actions to Ferdinand and Isabella, but Columbus found guilty and was no longer in charge of the new world and died in 1506 at the age of 54.

After that, the natives faced many difficulties and oppression, but he worked hard. In the present day, they hold the superpower of the world with the world's largest economy, with a GDP of $19.4 trillion and the most significant military budget of $610 billion.
