History of bodybuilding

                           Bodybuilding History.

The earliest record of bodybuilding dates back to the ancient Greeks, long before it was a sport. Back then, bodybuilding was seen as a way of developing the body and establishingnew records in the so-called gymnasiums, where the athletes would train, prepare and develop their bodies. This is officially referred to as the true start of bodybuilding.

Even though at this time the athletes were not using any form of resistance training to shape their bodies, they relied on a battery of physical exercises to improve their skills and reach new records in their sports.

During later years a crude form of resistance training was developed and promoted as a way of establishing a sound physique. As time went by, a concept of the ideal physique was gradually developed

By the 11th century, the greeks ideal found its way into indian culture. It was around this time that we began to see an archaic incarnation of modern resistance training.

The use of dumbbells and barbells to grow stronger muscle. The precompetition era in bodybuilding starts around early 1800, a time when weightlifting was in the focus so much that the practices of it even seemes archaic.

For this time untill 20th century, the public would gather and watch travelling strongmen try to outlift eachother. 1930 was the era which was called as pre steriod era. People don't even heard about the steriods at that time. The first official recognition of this trend occured during the MR. America competition which was organized by the Amateur Athletic Union in 1939.This event set the earliest cornerstones for the competitions that would soon become known as the first official bodybuilding events.

In 1960 to 1970 was the era of the olympia title when the first Mr Olympia competition started. These qualification was not so simple. To qualify for the olympia a bodybuilder have to won may previous competition to get participated in the final rounds which was Mr Olympia.
