Almost every student has some goals about his academic or professional life. Students also pre plan their college or university life after they have done with their matriculation or inter studies. In Pakistan such students expect the American or European type of university or college systems, which is only a sweet dream that doesn't come true.
Different universities have different intake criterion for new comers but main objectivo is how to earn money from them. In other countries Institution provide good education to earn money or support the youth to study for the betterment and welfare of society. Slogan is same but the matter is totally different here.
In Pakistani universities students just learn that how to get good grades completely ignoring their professional life. Some students ignore their studies since they know there is no value of grades or transcripts in practical field which is true because industries have only options to adopt such professionals who have good grades with no passion and those who have no grades with no passion. But this is a different case due to weak academia-industry linkage.
Public sectors institutes are very less in number. Only limited seats are available for every discipline and thousands of students have to compete for them either financially or academically. Private sectors institutes take benefit of this and welcome the disappointed or rejected students just to earn alot from them. Even some universities are providing fake degrees then students have to file the cases against them in courts but all in vain at the end.
After completing their university studies students have to leave Pakistan for master studies. Perhaps the reason behind this is that the Doctors or Engineers feel that Pakistan is not a best place to produce professionals like Dr Abdul Qadeer or Dr And Ul Sallam. Therefore they are forced to prepare for American or European countries.
Foreign universities offer these students scholarships and give them Masters and Doctorates degrees. After getting back to Pakistan these Masters or Doctorates degree holders find thier best place in universities and colleges or they have to leave the country once again seeking the jobs in Gulf or Western countries.
