Why Is This a Film?

Since he was a little child, Mahesh Babu's character Ramana has been apart from his mother, Ramya Krishnan. She gets married to someone else and succeeds her father Prakash Raj in politics. Guntur Kaaram explores the circumstances surrounding her son's desertion, the individual responsible, and how Ramana reunites his mother and father.

Acts

In his role as Ramana, Mahesh Babu puts everything into the role. His unrestrained enthusiasm is what keeps the movie going in spite of a lot of other problems. Mahesh Babu's comedic timing, which has been lacking in his last few movies, is best utilized by Trivikram. Mahesh smoking "Beedi" is an interesting notion that improves certain moments but seems superfluous in others. When it comes to his appearance, Mahesh has greatly improved from his last movie. His hairdo and shirt selection both go well on him.

Mahesh, the restrained actor, surprisingly gives his best performance when dancing. Not only in the group song "Kurchi Madatha Petti," but also in a medley in which he and Sreeleela dance. Compared to Sreeleela, Mahesh steals the show; he seems comfortable.

In the movie, Sreeleela plays the lead role, and not much is said about her aside from dances. She simply comes across as a typical heroine rather than the star heroine on screen because there is nothing to act or play for the character.

Meenakshi Chaudhary, the other actress, receives a terrible role. She plays a part in a Mahesh Trivikram movie, so I'm not sure if it makes her happy or regretful.
