                                                             GOD SEE THE TRUTH BT WAITS 

In the town of vladimir lived a young merchant mnamed ivan dmitrich aksenov he had two shops and a house of his own .

aksewas hand some fair haired curly headed fellow full of fun and very fond of singing when quite a young man he given to drink and was riotous when he had too much but after he married he gave up drinking expect now and then.

one day aksenov was going to the Nizhy fair and as he bade good bye to his family his wife said to him  ivan dmitrich do not start today i have had a bad dream about you.

aksenv loughed and said you are afraid of thet when  i get to the fair i shall go on the spree.

so he said good bye rto his family and drove away.

when he travelled half way he met a merchant whom he knew and they put up at the same inn for the night they had some tea together and them went to bed in adjoining rooms.

he wakes up in the morning  and then hae had made his way across to the landlord of the inn who lived in a cottage at the back paid his bill and coonntinued his journey when he had.

in the half way the twi soldier coame and stooped him and search his luggage and suddenly the officer drew a knife out a bag he was frightened.

aksenov looked looked and seeing a blood stained knife taken from his bag he was frightned.

the police officer ordered the soldiers to bind askenov and put him in the cart as they tied his feet together and flung him into the cart aksenov crossed himself and wept his money and goods wwere taken from him and he was sent to the nearest imprisoned there .

his wife came to see him in the jail officils not given permission for the frist time but after much begging she obtained permissionn to see him. she asked aksevon what can we do now?

we must petitionn the tsar not to let an innocent amn perish.

hiis wife told him that she had sent a petition to the tsar but that it had not been accepted.

aksenov did not reply but only looked down cast .

after 20 years of suffering he finaly founded the real culprit of this murder he said to him that it is easy for you to talk said aksenov but i have suffered these twenty years where could i go now ? my wife is dead and and my chidren have forgotten me . i ahve nowhere to go.

when aksenov heared him sobbing he too began to weep. 

god will forgive you said he may  be i am a hundred times worse than you at these wrods his heart grew light and the longing for home lft him he no longer had any desire to leave the prison but only hoped for his last hour to come .

in the spite of what aksenov had said makar semenich sonfessed his guilt but when the order for his release came aksenov was already dead.
