Festivals promote peace and harmony

Highly enthusiastic preparations are made before a couple of days from the festivels. People start cleaning their houses with love and devotion. They arrange new beautiful dresses for this big festival. They decorate their tables which is called haft sean. It consists of seven kinds of symbolic food, all of their names start with S. People wait for the exact moment of New Year. As soon as the moment arrived people exchange tulips and hycinths with each other. During holidays people pay short visits to their relatives, friends and neighbours. First, they go to visit elders of the family, then the elders come to meet them with love. On the 13th day the families go out for picnics. The people who celebrate festival beleive that it will affect the rest of the year. On the first morning of the New Year the first person who enters the house brings the sweet stuff. This is a mean of a good and prosper New Year.

                                                                           Festivals are cultural activities. Nauroz is propably one of the most celebrated festivals of the world. This festival throws light on the fact that people around the world begin their new year with prayers and hope to have peace and prosperity. Its aim is to bring awareness among the students about one of the most celebrated festivals of the world.

Another tradition is to place something sweet such as honey or candy, in a safe place outside overnight. On the first morning on the new year, the first person entering the house brings the sweet stuff into the house as another means of attaining a good new year.

                                                     During the holidays, people are expected to pay short visit to their families, friends and neighbours which are usually reciprocated. Dressed in their new clothes, the first house visits are paid to the most senior family members. Youth will the elders first, and the elders return their visit later. On the thirteenth day families leave their homes and go out for picnic.
