The first time that somebody told me about the HCG diet, I thought they were taking pesticides. Although some may argue that fat is a pest that you need a pesticide to get rid of, I was wrong in my assumption. Things like sugar and carbohydrates are banned with the hope that your metabolism will be reset and your weight will go down. The problem that most dieters face is a lack of understanding regarding the science of fat. Did you know that there are three types of fat? The first is commonly called structural fat by HCG diet professionals and serves the purpose of support, padding and structure for your organs and skin. The second, known as reserve fat, is what your body will use if you miss a meal or need a bit of extra energy. Then there is the abnormal fat. This stuff is literally locked away for use in times of starvation. The other two types are necessary because they are regularly used and replaced, but abnormal fat just sits there until you become unhealthily starved. If you were to look up the name of the hormone used in the HCG diet right now, you would see that it stands for human chorionic gonadotropin. That source would likely also tell you that HCG is a hormone that is produced in the bodies of pregnant women for the purpose of feeding the baby they’re carrying. It unlocks the abnormal fat that has been stored away for a time of need and uses it for the baby. Health care professionals have been using it for decades, but many people are just now hearing about it. Some speculate that it is becoming more popular because HCG companies can now use the internet to cut costs and make it more accessible to everybody. Yes, it all sounds pretty good, but you need to be on your guard. Anytime a discovery is made, reckless imitators are sure to make their attempts at a quick buck. If you come across somebody that is constantly inventing new HCG diet recipes in a seemingly random way, do not enlist their services. They don’t understand how the science of food works with HCG. This diet lasts either 23 or 40 days; no more, no less. If you hear of a 10-day HCG, don’t buy it! Does it work? Yes! Should you continue to research? Yes, again!
