With more than 100 institutions and holding majority students under single platform employers get single window access to on campus placement cell across the colleges at a single click of mouse. But is it really the case in reality.
At its core, Superset is a B2B enterprise placement automation software for Universities for an end to end on campus placement process . Many services they provide ranging from collecting student database, tracking corporate outreach, creating job profiles, collecting job applications, publishing shortlist, scheduling interviews, enforcing policies to generating reports. So in effect a University subscribes to the platform and then provide credentials to all of its students to sign up on the platform , through the coarse of their degree.
Superset CEO and co-founder Mr. Naman Agarwal says that " Our analytics and observation suggest that over a period of time , Superset improves corporate conversion by upto 22 percent, increases student engagement by upto 90% and also saves 80 percent of the time- making the placement process more streamlined. "
Platform students to apply for a job via the mobile apps and the application list gets automatically collated. On the short term horizon, Superset is keen on consolidating and simplifying the entire graduate recruitment environment in India by bringing all stakeholders on one single platform.
Since I am in my final year of graduation,I have been constantly using Superset app for all placements related stuffs in college. What I feel is that creating such an app and bring all points together in a single platform is very good but still some work needs to be done in making the system more attractive and informative. There is no proper channel which keeps the information of students automatically stored. Adding any new information takes months to get verified. Companies sending their job roles do not come for hiring and without any notice. On what basis the company shortlists is not revealed which makes eligible students who really think they could have made it get depressed. Companies do not specify their recruiting dates in advance and students are not able to make plans for the same. Once the results are declared, they do not provide any list of selected candidates and those not selected. The app hangs a lot with attachments missing in some notices. If students are not able to attend drives due to some reasons the college starts to block them on the App. Once the students are placed in a company, even for internships , they dont allow them to apply for other good companies even if they are of interest to the students. Even college forcing students to go for a IT job not even relevant to his field, where it makes sense ?
Its good that a platform has been created for best recruitment processes in college but maintaining proper process of using it is more important. If its application is not well worked , then how the app will grow. The students obviously will give negative feedback regarding it. Still the app is too slow for a better working and needs a lot of improvements to make system more streamlined. I hope that with further improvements and making the app more student friendly, fulfilling his needs, Superset will achieve greater heights in future.
