CURRENT THREATS: FAKE AND ARTIFICIAL LIQUID MILK

The real liquid milk is secreted by the mammary glands of mammals which consist of high nutrition value and generally rich with calories, water, proteins, carbohydrates, sugars, fibers, fats. It is also an outstanding source of many vitamins and minerals. It is also a supplement food of newborns and patients. Synthetic milk is not milk but an artificial imitation of natural milk with a high degree of adulteration to increase the volume of milk and thereby the profit. The ivory or slight yellow color of some milk has two causes. First, the vitamin riboflavin in milk has a greenish yellow color. Second, the cow's diet is a factor. A diet high in carotene (the pigment found in carrots and pumpkins) colors milk. Main components of synthetic milk are water, pulverized detergent or soap, sodium hydroxide, vegetable oil, salt and urea. Producing of fake and artificial liquid milk is commonly practiced some countries now a days which not identified by lactometer also. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention cautions that unpasteurized milk can cause serious illness, because it's a fertile breeding ground for harmful germs like salmonella and E. coli. The formula of forty kilogram artificial and fake liquid milk are as follows: seven kilograms liquid milk, water of chhana or chhena, hydrose, formalin and other materials like detergent powder, soda, salt, sugar, saline etc. Now, the following suggested six points to identify the real milk: 1. Milk poured in the surface. If white sticky is found then it is the real milk. 2. After warming, if milk turns yellow color then it not real milk because it consists of carbohydrates. 3. Milk taken in a vessel and added two teaspoonful salt, if milk turns blue color then it consists of carbohydrate (starch test). 4. Formalin Test: Sulphuric acid added to the milk. If milk turns blue color then it contains formalin. 5. Urea Test: Take one cup of milk and mixed soyabean powder. After sometimes, soaked litmus paper and if it is turned from red to blue color then urea is present. 6. Take one container where taken half portion of milk and half portion of water. Then, both are mixed thoroughly after closed the container. If highly bubbles are found then the milk contains detergents. The fake and artificial liquid milk also causes various health hazards in the human being such as liver dysfunction, gastric ulcer, dysentery, cancer on liver, kidney damage, diarrhea etc. Government may take strict action against such unethical practice in the country to save the human being as well as newborn babies and patients. If deliberately add anything to the milk which is not supposed to be a part of milk and then it is adulteration. Such milk containing urea, detergent etc. is said to be adulterated and is very harmful to the consumer. In fact one of the key ingredients used to produce the synthetic milk was Maltodextrin, a white-coloured thickener that causes blood sugar levels to spike and can spell disaster for diabetics. Another adulterant, detergent, not only damages stomach’s lining, but also causes severe food poisoning, while many of the other chemicals used could cause cancer and heart problems.
