CORRUPTION IN INDIA
OR
CORRUPTION IN PUBLIC LIFE
OR
CORRUPTION IN INDIAN POLITICS
CORRUPTION :-The simplest definition is: Corruption is the misuse of public power (by elected politician or appointed civil servant) for private gain. ... Corruption is the misuse of entrusted power (by heritage, education, marriage, election, appointment or whatever else) for private gain.
" power corrupts and absolute power absolutely." These prophetic words have become too true in the case of India. The dawn of independence , after two centuries of slavery , power was thrust in the hands of our political leaders , administrator, industrialists and several others. Having tasted power, they become a obessed with it. Their thirst for mode and greater power grew . There started a rat race for power and political spoils. This has led to the emergence of corruption in a big way in our country. Corruption has become the order of the day in India . In government offices, , files do not move unless you grease the palm of the dealing hand . Almost every government servant from a big officer to the petty peon is corrupt. Even Judiciary and police departments are not free from his malady. Bribes can get the facts distorted and make the guilty go scot free and innocent peoples are convicted. Corruption has a sepread like a cancer and everybody has his price and none is beyond corruption. Whether it is to buy one's daily rations, or to secure news print quota,or toget rail, plane or bus reservation, to get a stolen article traced, you just have to pay the price. And the Clever Businessman who pays the price makes sure that collects it back with interest from his customers. Thus We find third rate quality products and adulterated goods. There are not only fake currencies but there are also fake medical and engineering degrees . The growing black money is giving more scope to corruptions.
