Much has been written about dreams and their meaning or purpose. Mankind has been amazed at our dreams since the first dreamer woke up and wondered what their visions meant. We have always looked at our dreams to see what the future holds for us. The first recorded dreams we know of were in 4000 BC. The first writings we have about dreams are primarily religious and spiritual texts.
Most people will spend about one third of their lives asleep. Our dreams are a part of our reality, but they are often ignored. Dreams can give us insight and understanding about our personal lives. They will help us to understand the past, the present, and sometimes our future. All we have to do is pay attention to our dreams and know them.
Dreams can have a message for the future.
We have different kinds of dreams. Often our dreams contain images from our most stressful thoughts and / or things that we feel. Sometimes, though, our dreams can be special. Our dreams can communicate with us if we let them. What we need to do is listen.
I believe there are two main types of prophetic dreams.
Those who come to us from our own “depths”, who know more than we do at the level of consciousness, and those who may be from an “external” source.
Here is an example of my dreams:
I dreamed, of death. What I remember in my dream was seeing a hand on a stone. The most notable was the ring on his hand. I saw it without hesitation, yes, it was my ring. Although it was the only image I could remember of the nightmare, I knew that this dream was about death. I felt it strongly when I woke up. I had forgotten all the events of the dream, but the feelings were still clear.
The ring was a military boot camp ring made very similar to a class ring. After I dreamed, I never wore it again. I eventually sold it to a friend who had attended the same training camp. A few years later, I received a phone call. My friend had been killed. He was found lying on rocks and dust with the ring in his hand.
Did my dream warn me about this event? I think it is possible. What was the dream trying to communicate with me? I thought the dream was about my death. I also thought that the ring was somehow responsible for my death. I stopped wearing the ring, as if that would prevent a death warning. Maybe the dream was telling me that my friend was going to die with that ring in his hand.
Whenever we have a dream that we consider to be prophetic or "meaningful" we are faced with the daunting task of defining what a dream means. Dream Signs usually have vivid meanings, but these meanings can vary greatly from one person to another. That is why we cannot rely too much on the explanations given in the Dream Symbol Dictionaries.
To understand the meaning of the symbols within our dreams, we must come to a better and deeper understanding of ourselves. We need to learn what these signs mean to us because they are thus a reflection of our dream mind.
Anything inside your dream can be a symbol. An example of a sign in a snake dream. Snakes can have different meanings for different people. Like all other dream signals, they can have a different meaning for the same person at different times in their lives. You should also look for the mark in the context in which it appears. What other symptoms were present in the dream?
The best way to get a better understanding of what your dream symbols mean to you is to build your own dream sign dictionary. Keep as details of the dream journal as much as possible. Do not just write down the details of what happened, but write down your feelings and emotions as well. As you continue to write in your journal and re-read your previous posts, you will begin to see the fulfillment of your dreams and your life. Gradually, you will be able to see what the signs of your dreams really mean to you.
