Bollywood Movies That Are Copied From Hollywood.

Bollywood Movies That Are Copied From Hollywood.

Hindi Cinema doesn't hold back when it comes to taking inspiration from the Hollywood industry for their movies. While we have seen several instances where the movies were straight-up picked, copied, and turned into a Bollywood movie, there have been times when Hollywood was a major source of inspiration for Indian directors. Here are seven movies that were inspired by Hollywood hits.

1. Rain Man & Yuvvraaj

The story of Rain Man & Yuvvraaj is almost similar, in which there are three brothers who learn that their deceased father has left a lot of money behind. In this scenario, they all try to con each other to get their father's wealth. The film talks about the arrogance and pride of the youth. Since it's a Bollywood movie, it had a bit of romance to add more spice. Otherwise, the plot has been inspired by the Hollywood version.

2. Disclosure & Aitraaz

We loved the steamy chemistry between Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra in the Bollywood film, Aitraaz. Even though the Bollywood version seems a bit more complicated, if you look at it overall, it has been inspired by the Disclosure movie, where a woman tries to accuse the guy with a harassment case.

3. Scarface & Agneepath

Agneepath is yet another movie that sought inspiration from Al Pacino's Scarface. To tell you the truth, even the main, iconic scene was taken from the Hollywood version. While some movies flop big time, we are glad that this one took inspiration from Scarface and gave us some of the most iconic characters of all time.

4. An Affair To Remember & Mann

There are a lot of similarities in Mann that are taken from An Affair to Remember, most importantly, the scene where the guy meets the girl on the cruise. The plot is a bit similar, but after adding some Bollywood masala, this movie looked like an original.

5. Return To Eden & Khoon Bhari Maang

Khoon Bhari Maang is an action thriller movie, which was released in 1988. In this movie, a wealthy widow is pushed off a boat by her husband, into the jaws of crocodiles. After being assumed dead, the protagonist survives and decides to avenge her husband by pretending to be a model. This movie is heavily borrowed and inspired by the Australian mini-series, Return Of Eden, which had a similar storyline.

6. Dead Poets Society & Mohabbatein

Bollywood movie, Mohabattein has the same plot as Dead Poets Society, where a teacher tries to break the norms of a prestigious boarding school. The only difference is John Keating teaches literature and art, whereas SRK obviously teaches how to woo women.

7. The Godfather & Sarkar

We all know how The Godfather went, and if there's a Bollywood version inspired by it, it's Sarkar where the mafia gang is trying to keep the territory under control while fighting another gang. The mafia boss turns one of his sons into a ruthless mafia boss. Both movies follow the same characters and narratives.
