Apple core contains cyanide.

Apples are one of the world's most popular fruit.

They contain small, black seed that are usually avoided because of their bitter taste, but

people may occasionally eat them by accident or not bother to spit them out.

Apple seeds contain a plant compound known as amygdalin.

It is found in relatively high amounts in the seeds of fruit in the rose family, which includes

apples,almonds,apricots,peaches and cherries.

Amygdalin is a part of the seeds' chemical defenses. It is harmless when intact, but when the

seeds are damaged, chewed or digested, amygdalin degrades into hydrogen cyanide. This is

very poisonous and even lethal in high doses.

Cyanide has been used as a poison throughtout history. It works by interfacing with cells'

oxygen supplies, and may led to death within minutes at a sufficiently high dose.

According to a research,Eating about 20 cores might kill you.

How much cyanide is lethal?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) , 1-2 mg/kg is a fatal oral dose of cyanide for a 154lbs(70kg) man. Most apple core contain around 5 apple seeds.

However , this amount will vary based on the health of the plant. You would need to finely chew and eat about 200 apples seeds,or about 40 apple cores, to receive a fatal dose.

The Agency for Toxic Substances & Disease Registry(ATSDR) says that exposure to even small amounts of cyanide can be dangerous. Cyanide can harm the heart and brain, and even lead to coma and death.ATSDR adds that people should avoid eating the seeds of apples, and the pits of fruits that include :

          .peaches

          .apricots

          .cherries

Symptoms of cyanide poisoning can occur quickly. They include shortness of breath and seizures.

Both can lead to loss of conciousness.

Exess of everything is dangerous. So kindly take everything in a limit otherwise it can harm you.

                 Health is Wealth. Be Healthy.
