Anaconda: World's Biggest Snake Largest Snake Lengthy Snake

The Anaconda is a semiaquatic and large snake; it also called as water boas, found in tropical South America. The green Anaconda is the largest snake in the world, growing up to 9 meters long and weighing as much as 230 to 250 kg. Anacondas are especially numerous near Amazon and Orinoco rivers. Anacondas grow constantly their entire life. Anaconda hunts on the ground and in the water, but it spends most of its life in the water where it moves more easily.

Anaconda can stay under water for 10 minutes before it comes to the surface to grab some air. Anaconda snakes are eating large amount of the meal. If Anaconda eats large amount the food after a few days it will not take any food. They like to eat fish, turtles, caimans, capybaras, pigs, jaguars, deer, etc. Anaconda is not a venomous snake. It uses strong and muscular body to kill its prey. Like other constrictors, Anaconda will grab its victim, wrap its body around the prey and squeeze it until it dies from suffocation. When an animal dies, Anaconda swallows whole prey in one piece. Anaconda nature is nocturnal, which means it is hunted in the night time. Generally Anaconda life span is 10 to 12 years in wild areas in sanctuaries it lives nearly 30 years.

Anacondas live near rivers, lakes and swamps and like to live alone. Water is their main escape method when confronted with danger. They spend a lot of their time in the dark waters of their habitat, that’s why scientists are not studying well about Anaconda snake. Anacondas are solitary snakes and only get together during the mating season, which takes place between April and May. A female Green Anaconda can give birth to 60-100 live young. Baby Anacondas are only two feet in length and receive no maternal nurturing growing up.
