A TEST FOR PAKISTANI BATSMEN

BRISBANE TEST DAY 1

On 21 October,2019 Brisbane became the host of the 1st test between Pakistan and Australia. The first day began with the coin toss which Azhar ali(the captain of Pakistan cricket team) won and he elected to bat first as he judged the conditions to be in favour of batting first.

The innings started of with Azhar ali and Shan masood as oppeners for the batting side and Josh hazlewood oppened with the bowl.

It was a wobbly start for the pakistani oppeners but they soon got settled in and made a 65 run partnership however it couldnot last very long as Masood fell at the hands of Patt cumins, giving a easy catch to the second slip fielder and soon after him Azhar fell for 39 runs in a similar fashion, this time by Hazlewood

and then one after the other the wickets started tumbling Haris went for just 1,giving Starc his first wicket of the day. Then the dangerous Babar azam also fell for 1 run giving Hazlewood his second wicket of the day then soon Ifthikhar ahmed fell for just 7. Rizwan and Asad shafiq stabalized the innings with their mesmerizing play untill Rizwan was given out on 37. The wicket was a controversial one as the third umpire gave out on a clear no-ball. The oppener of the tail-enders Yasir shah provided good support to Asad who was batting exquisitely.

Asad made 76 on 133 balls and then got bowled out beautifully by Cummins and then soon after the others fell as well. At the end of the day Pakistan got bowled out on 240.

While Pakistan started on top at the beggining of the day however the day ended with Auses on top who would be feeling very confident on day 2 with the return of players like David warner and  Steve smith Australia would feel that they can give a huge lead to Pakistan.

Writing Pakistan off just after the first day would be too foolish as Pakistan is still one of the best bowling sides in the world with the likes of Imran khan, Shaheen afridi, Yasir shah and the youngster Naseem shah Pakistan would look to give a strong oposition to the Auses.
