Rohit and Akanksha were going to Pune from Mumbai. Akanksha was happy that finally, Avi is doing well academically, but Rohit was double-minded about going to Pune as he uses to feel too much under pressure while meeting relatives.
Akanksha was asking him to enjoy the scenery on the way and Avi was sleeping on the back seat of their new SUV.They stopped in Lonavala for lunch and the usual discussion about what to order started. Where Akanksha wanted to order something lite which Avi too could have but Rohit insisted on ordering moton do pyaaza as he had been here earlier too and knew the taste of it.
Finally, Rohit won, as usual, they ordered lunch and Rohit went out for a smoke break. When he came back lunch was served, they all had it and Rohit said that he got a call from his agency( Rohit is an actor), the shoot may start from the day after tomorrow and he doesn't want to miss this project. It will affect their financial chain as they have a loan on them and the EMI has to go on time. Avi became upset, he didn't want to go back and said that he will go along with mom if dad can not go.
Akanksha didn't know what to say as she wanted to keep her promise to Avi of taking him for a trip once his results improve(Avi was in 1st standard) and she did not want Rohit to miss this project too, as she was well aware of the financial situation.
Finally, they decided to check in a hotel in Lonavala itself and stay there for 2 days, if the shoot starts the day after tomorrow then they will leave 1 day earlier. They checked in a posh hotel near the lake, so they could get the view of the lake from their window.
Avi was happy as there is more freedom in a hotel room than any relative's place. It was 4 pm and they ordered some masala tea for them and an energy drink for Avi.
They went out to sit on the lakeside and Akanksha started talking that it would have been nicer if they could go to Pune and brag about their new SUV and how well Rohit is doing in his career and how much happy they all are in their life. Rohit's temper suddenly changed and he yelled that why she is so interested in showing off all the materialistic things they have and care less about him and Avi.
Akanksha was shocked, because just 2 mins back Rohit's mood was fine and he was about to work in a big project, so there is no reason to be upset and behave like this, he wasn't drunk either. But she didn't want to create a scene and hence she apologized and asked him to keep quiet. Rohit didn't say anything and left. Now only avi and Akanksha were sitting on the lakeside. Avi wanted to go for boating but Akanksha didn't want to go without Rohit. But when Avi insisted she had no choice, she went boating with him.
Rohit came back after 15-20 mins and started shouting on the top of his voice that she is a careless mother and he should not have left Avi with her, Akanksha said firmly that -All our plans this time and every time are set around your availability and preference, she is not working to be with her son, still calling her an irresponsible Mother is not fair. Then she left for the room.
Rohit also came in the room and tried starting a conversation with Avi, Avi said that he only insisted to go for boating and mom is the one who always stays with him unlike Rohit, then Akanksha interrupted Avi saying That Rohit can't be with Avi all the time because he has other work which he does for us like a responsible father, Rohit realized that he shouldn't be rude to Akanksha and said sorry, Akanksha nodded her head and started watching TV.
They ordered food in the room only as no one was as cheerful as they all were in the morning. After dinner when Avi slept Akanksha sat in the balcony which had lakes view, Rohit also came there.
Akanksha said it's so strange how I feel, we bought a new car, we are on a 2 days holiday and we are doing financially well, Avi is doing well too, basically, there is no need for us to be so low, me so low, I am a happy person and I am used to your such behavior too, strangely this place looks good but don't feel good, something which I can not point out is not right, Rohit said its all because of him, he started shouting as soon as they came here, that is why she feels this way. Akanksha said maybe, but still.
They cuddled a bid and slept, while suddenly Akanksha felt someone is gazing at her while her face was covered, she got goose bombs and tried to open the comforter and tried to check and to her utter surprise it was no one other than Rohit, she got up quickly and asked him what's wrong. He said he is just trying to know her, he sounded strange.
Akanksha felt a little scared so she asked him to sleep on the couch because she is not comfortable, to which Rohit replied that this is the first time he got to get closer to anybody and she is asking him to stay away, she felt even more scared and decided to stay up the whole night and watch tv to divert her mind. She switched it on low volume and Rohit sat next to her, she downloaded holy mantras on her mobile and played it on a very low volume.
Rohit threw her phone and broke it, he asked her why are you trying to get rid of me when I am just staring at you and doing nothing. Then he smiled creepily and said that the SUV which she thinks is new is 2nd hand, he said that Rohit has lied to her about it. She was too scared to move also, Rohit kept on looking at her and smiling, he asked her why she is not happy with his happiness? Akanksha asked who is he to which he turned around and sat on the couch.
He looked down and stopped smiling, he said- so when did you realized that I am not Rohit? She asked firmly(trying to hide her fear) you tell me who are you and where is Rohit? He said I am Manish, I am a local guy who was working in a resort nearby. I was an orphan, without friends.
One day I got a half-empty vodka bottle in a guest's room, I was curious about how it tasted like so I had it all. suddenly I lost control over myself and because I didn't want to be thrown out of the job so I decided to go away for a while and come back after some time when I'll be feeling normal, so I walked towards the highway and a Suv hit me.
I was dead on the spot, I could see my body on one side of the road, covered in blood, I was in shock, I thought that its some kind of bad dream because I got drunk, but no, it was the reality. I didn't want to leave this beautiful world so soon. So I decided to stay for some time. I saw the manager of the resort recognized me but denied to take my body, the Suv owner knew he has killed someone but didn't bother to stop.
The government authorities did my funeral.I am hanging here and there since then just enjoying me time which I didn't get earlier. Akanksha was less scared and more curious now, she asked why he is in Rohit's body? TO which he smiled and said that Rohit owns the same SUV which hit him.
Akanksha said that she knows he hasn't done any accident, Manish said he didn't do the accident but bought the SUV at a much cheaper price from the actual owner who sold it because he didn't want to keep it after the accident. Akanksha asked him where is Rohit? He said Rohit is here only, I don't hate him or anybody but envy everybody, everybody who has everything but still keep complaining about few misfortunes, Life is a gift which I realized when I lost it.
I envy everyone who still has this gift. I envy those who died but have someone missing them unlike me. Akanksha calmly held his hand( without any fear) and said, maybe god missed such a nice soul and that's why he called you back so soon, why are you staying to feel the pain, leave and relieve yourself. I will not say I will miss you but you are sure someone I will always remember. He looked at her and smiled, this time softly, said because I am a ghost.
Akanksha said because you have more humanity in you that many humans have. He got up slowly, and lied on the couch and slept. Akanksha kept looking at him. In the morning Rohit got up little late and checked his phone, his battery was dead, he started murmuring that nobody cares about his career and him, blamed Akanksha to stay up till late watching tv.
Akanksha smiled and this annoyed him even more. Akanksha ordered breakfast and Avi silently whispered to Akanksha, Papa is back and Akanksha looked him in shock.
