Interaction
Criticism is a useful tool in any relationship regardless of it being business-related or any other aspect. Although there are many frowns upon criticism and critics, criticism is necessary for creating a successful relationship between people. A bond is a connection between two people.
A lot of factors come into mind when a person is critical of someone i.e., caring. The person could have used that time to do something else. However, he chose to send you a message that he cares about you. That is crucial.
Additionally, you get to interact with numerous people. Many people find it funny that I love it when someone criticizes me. Every time I receive criticism, I embrace it because I have another companion who finds my profession or opinion worthy of being talked about. He does not seem to agree with it. I think its the most worrying if I don't get any criticism at all. That creates a comfort zone and hampers the interaction with people. You want to share your professional life and personal life with people. Receiving criticism means that you are interacting with people whom you never interacted with before. That means you are touching the lives of more people than you ever did before.
Value of opinion
I have seen many people who do not seem to find an answer to the value of their opinion, their image, their personality, or their mentality. That is what the factor of criticism brings to a person. It brings honesty. I prefer to be someone who openly shares what I think about me instead of those who try to hide their thoughts about me. The reason is that if a person is honest with me, he criticizes for my betterment. Whatever I hear from him is what I will get. The relationship deteriorates very quickly if he tries to hide his opinions about me. What I do after hearing an impression on me is a different thing, but least I will be aware of what the person thinks of me.
Learning from mistakes
A person has to believe in perseverance and continuous improvements. A successful person always strives to learn from his mistakes daily and improve. If you think that you are a perfect person and you possess no weakness, you are either fooling everybody or yourself. If you are willing to strive for perfection, you need to listen to others. Criticism lets you know about your weaknesses so you can polish them. The more gaps get identified, the faster you grow. Over the years, I have learned many things after others criticized me for the bad things in my professional life. Some of them have helped me to learn something I have never known before about myself, which has been instrumental to my growth. I used to be a guy who was too much open when it comes to expressing my opinion about someone, which was not because of how bold I was, but it was (and it still is) because of my ego. However, my biggest strength today is striving to improve; I try to see things differently and tell others to do the same.
No one is perfect regardless of how much a person tries. The Almighty has created a difference that will stay forever between a human being and an angel When a guy like me is blessed with some of the best friends in the world, you involve them in day to day life and begin to formulate what you believe to be the right way to run your life. What I have learned is that one of, if not the, most crucial aspect of any relationship is criticizing.
