Why Japanese are always slim and young?

A survey states that the average number of fatty people in all the countries, excluding Japan, ranges from around 15 to 30%, whereas the quantity of fatty people in Japan is just 3.6%. Additionally, researchers predict that the life expectancy of people in Japan is comparatively higher than in other nations. The following are the tricks used by the Japanese to stay fit and healthy.

DIET

Like other nations, Japanese natives also intake carbohydrates in their diet. But, the difference is, they totally avoid saturated fats in their diet. Most of us drink milk at least thrice a day, either in the form of tea, coffee, or energy drinks. While consuming milk, we use a larger quantity of sugar. But Japanese use a much lesser amount of sugar and salt in their food.

FOOD INTAKE METHOD

Additionally, the Japanese government has also framed special rules for its nation regarding diet plans. They use smaller-sized plates for eating. When we use larger-sized plates, we are urged to eat more food. So they use a smaller plate, and they intake a variety of dishes but in lesser quantity. They use chopsticks to grab their food which can hold only a smaller quantity of food. They grind the food in their mouth for a larger amount of time. As a result, the time taken to eat a meal is more, and they feel their stomach is full soon.

SITTING POSTURE

Most people eat while watching TV or mobile phones, so they are distracted from concentrating on food. In most cases, people consume more food when their concentration is somewhere else other than food. To avoid this problem, Japanese houses are designed with special rooms for dining purposes. They have the habit of sitting on the floor instead of using chairs and tables. So they entirely concentrate on the type of food and quantity they eat. Another important reason behind this type of eating method is their respect for food.

FOOD TIMINGS

Most of us eat whenever we feel like eating, right? But the Japanese maintain perfect food timings. Their breakfast time is between 8:00 am to 9:00 am, lunchtime is between 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, and dinner timing is between 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. They eat perfectly according to this schedule. In case of emergencies where they cannot have their food at home, they pack the food and start eating along with permitted roadside areas. Only in rare and unavoidable situations, they have their food in restaurants that too in perfect timings.

GREEN TEA

Japanese drink green tea once they wake up in the morning. The average intake of green tea is 1 to 3 cups per day. Green tea has several benefits when compared to the normal tea we intake. This green tea has a special power to stimulate body metabolism and reduces fat content in our body. Additionally, it gets rid of heart-related diseases. While traveling, most people consume energy drinks instead of tea. These energy drinks contain an average of 150 calories. Nevertheless, Japanese natives have the habit of drinking green tea even while travelling. The best part is the green tea which they consume is prepared such that it contains 0 calories by considerably reducing the amount of sugar in it.

SNACKS

Though we eat good food, most of us love to eat snacks after a meal. But Japanese avoid intake of snacks. We are aware that in Japan, more vending machines are present. Though the number of vending machines is more, the presence of snacks in it is negligible. Instead, these vending machines are filled with healthy drinks.

NUTRITION CLASSES

Japanese schools conduct exclusive nutrition classes for students where kids learn to differentiate healthy versus unhealthy foods. Due to this method followed in schools, as the kids grow, they identify unhealthy foods and avoid consuming them. Most of the parents drop their kids at school through a walk. They are aware that walking at an earlier age will make it a habit in later stages. The fat in their body gradually decreases while following this method.

By using these simple methods, most Japanese people stay fit and healthy in their entire lives. So, let’s follow these easy steps and make our lives still beautiful.
