About the game
Desperados 3, players who have played the first one back in 2001 definitely will recognize this game immediately, Desperados 3 is a real-time stealth tactical video game released this June; with all these AAA games constantly releasing, this game is a breath of fresh air.
The Story
The events of the game happened before the events of desperados 1, so it acts as a prequel of the original game. The game follows the life of john cooper and his fellow parties: Kate, mcoy, Isabelle and hector. Each member of this party has unique skills; Players will have to use these skills to complete each level.
The Gameplay
This game brings back the old mechanics from the first desperados game, but in a more fun way, how? You ask, well, You see the game redefines the trial and error mechanics uniquely. Okay, to understand let me give You an example of the first level, john cooper is in search of a man named Frank, we see him on a train which has been captured by bandits. The bandits blocked the tunnel with giant boulders, which was in its pathway.
There was also happen to be another fellow name mcoy, who was also on the train. So the duo decided to work together and destroy the boulders with dynamite. The mission objective is simple right? But there are multiple approaches to this objective, and as a player who has played the first one, I definitely thought this is harder than it looks! And that's the beauty of it. You can control only two of the characters, and there are a dozen bandits who will shoot you on sight. Although it definitely is a complex situation You are also given a choice, You can not go gun blazing if You do well the game will become 100 times harder. So You will have to use your brain. The game gives you endless possibilities, For example, You can shoot with mcoys silent, silent rifle to take down enemies from watchtower from afar silently, You can use environmental kills to take down multiple enemies, without raising the alarm and you can use cooper's coin distracting the enemy than take him out silently and so on. The game gives you so many opportunities, and You can approach the game in your own way, and that is just the first level of the game!
The Satisfaction
When You solve the problems of your own way, you feel this immense satisfaction, this feeling of being a badass! I think very few games can give you this sense of accomplishment. You can not definitely finish the levels in one go no matter what difficulty you play. You have to experiment with the most efficient way to take down enemies, save ammunition, and so on.
The Trial and Error Approach!
You have to use the trial and error approach, keep trying and dying until you found the most reliable and most natural way to solve a situation, and when you do find the way, It feels so satisfying! It really feels like You are using your brain! Sadly, Nowadays, most of the game requires you to do button mashing your way from point a to point b with the same approach over and over again and that's why trying this game was definitely a breath of fresh air for me and that is why You should try too!
